What do you and your KH call your device?

It's strange but my wife and I can't seem to find a name for my device that feels right for both of is. "Device" is too bland and technical. She doesn't like "cage" because she doesn't see it that way. She thinks it looks more like armor - steel and protective. That doesn't feel right to me. It doesn't signify her ownership. Using its proper name sounds stupid. "I'm aching in my CB3000s, Ms. B" Ms Amanda calls it a "thingy" which I find funny and great. I'd love to hear what you all call it.

When I stepped out of the shower with it on, my wife asked: "How is it wearing that Device." I guess that is where we are at.

Yes, I can see they. Belt would be good but a male device isn't really a belt

LOL ... we don't actually call it anything ... we only refer to its function most of the time ... "are you locked up?" "we can unlock to shave and shower." "Unlock and lay down" "ok that's all now lock it up" "I'm hard but it is preventing any real growth" "it is rubbing a little causing chaffing I need some lube"

So I guess we refer to it as "locked-up"

@BKNYC well , I suppose you could call it anything. Fred, Bill or even Tinkerbell, As long as it does it's job, it doesn't really matter.

@Mistress B I agree you can call it anything I think what I'm getting at is that what you call "it" says a lot about your relationship to it and each other. You're right it doesn't matter what she decides - as long as it feel right. And "what feels right" gives a great deal of insight into how we both feel about the power dynamic. So I find it interesting that Ms B and I can't seem to agree on a name...

@BKNYC, you offerred Mstrs B another glass of wine, in a conversation about names of things, and @doubleglitch said "Would a rosé by another name smell as sweet?"

A pun on the naming of things and your glass of wine! How clever was that? :D

The quote in general is most apt to my mind, as the there are many other romantic sounding names that a rose could be called that would do the job perfectly, as with your chastity device. But, does it even need a name?

There's many incredibly useful things we use regularly that don't have names. For instance, the protocol that makes digital cameras and computers communicate was named TWAIN which is not a name but actually a statement of its namelessness, as it stands for Thing Without An Interesting Name. A bit droll, but it came up in conversation the other day. I know, interesting life eh? :)

Serious, and frivolity in one go! ;)

Good morning Mistress B. I hope you slept well. I'm not, unfortunately. It's 4:50 am and I can't sleep. It's been my longest time locked up ash I'm aching.

Ok, so, thank you for your explanation, Mistress B. I'm actually pretty familiar with the quote - (although it was misquoted a little) It's from Romeo and Juliet.

And you're right, it does make sense if @doubleglitch is simply agreeing with you in a fun, romantic way.

The thing is, while naming something doesn't change the nature of the thing, it does say something about our relationship to it. That's what I'm interested in. If I call you Mistress B or if I call you "my little girl" neither will change who you are but both will say tons about how I see you or my relationship to you.

I'm looking for ideas for names because I can see that our (Ms B and I) inability to find a name we both like means we're not seeing our relationship the same way and we need to find common ground. So, yes, a cage is a cage is a cage but our cage is what we agree it is and agreement is everything in a relationship :)

Our experiences of things will always be different. 2 people at the same party describing it afterwards you might think had been at 2 different parties, and the same with what people get from art for instance. A chastity device between the wearer and KH even more so - what it means or represents to you both will be 2 very different things.

This is why we ended up calling mine 'thing', as in "Have you got your thing on?"

As a start, if you haven't already, I would suggest the 2 of you discuss what it represents to each of you, and looking for any common ground from which you may be able to draw something suitable. If you have already but failed to find common ground then you're just going to have to go with whatever she suggests. Agreement is nice, understanding is great, but the thing that is most important when faced with difference is acceptance.

    :)
