I had noticed that too @slave stroppy, I am looking into it to see if there is something that can be done.

You are not the only who has noticed it. I have seen post deleted from threads and whole threads deleted.
    Censorship?

I have more than noticed it I must say.

There was a thread about the Chatroom party and that just disappeared for reason unknown.

I also posted about the Party and that seemed to evaporate too.

I don't think either were controversial or included any swear words

Just picking up on my previous post I happened to be able to take a screen grab on my phone of teh Recent Activity list that showed a post had been made in a thread I has started.

It was there a while, then just disappeared. I chatted with the poster and he seemed to think it was just "gremlins".

    Here's the grab:

    Deleted post.png

As you can see there was nothing controversial as far as I can see.

There are many here who are busy posters and it woudl be interesting to knwo if they have noticed such glitches of posts disappearing into the ether.

If posts and threads are just going I would have thought there would be some protocol and criteria for such actions. Certainly two Mods confirming that a post or thread should go - and agreed reasons for such deletions.

Over the years I can remember some obviously disruptive and rude posts going. But not many.

Hoepfully @Mistress Jules will find out what has been happening :)

It would appear that the sink hole has stopped eating? for now at least!. The idea that at least two moderators need to be in agreement before taking the sword to a post seems very sensible and democratic otherwise why have so many? I for one am looking forward to hearing just where they vanished to and whether they could happen again.

Well was it one Moderator on their own? I have read posts in the evening and could not find them in the morning.

The post I seen had no foul language or any other reason for why they should have been deleted.

I would like to see the questions answered,

Who deleted the threads and posts? And Why?

I think that would be good place to start

I have looked into the posts and threads disappearing. It seems that there were some inadvertent deletions recently which is not what we want here at the mansion.

I am sure that this error will not happen again and the mansion will be once again be the welcoming place for all to post that we all know it to be.

It wasnt me lol - I only delete threads ever at a last resort and after talking with other Mods. I think that is a sensible way :)

    I am sure it wasn't you @philfred

It is good that @Mistress Jules has got to the bottom of this and is assured it will not happen in future.

I also had a post deleted where I said that name changes would be dealt with by Admin and I got this message:
Deleted in order to avoid a landslide of name changes inspired by request

What I've seen in another forum that worked quite well - very well in fact - was a donation required for each name change.
That way you don't get people taking the piss with it, and the site or favourite charity etc. gets some money.
Make it £10 or similar, people are going to think twice before frivolous name changes.

LOL - I doubt there has ever been a "landslide" of requests. I am sure that Admin would find it easy to decline - but he is a nice guy and keen to help :)

And it wasn't him that deleted it ;)

No, I'm sure there hasn't, but it's a nice way of raising awareness that the place costs money to run. :)

@maid_carrie I have to say I am surprised that having given so much information about posts/threads being deleted that you yourself have edited a post the day after you posted it and removed almost half of it. An ability that very few have on this site.

I do think that is a bit ridiculous considering the original purpose of this thread and I certainly wouldn’t want anyone who is reading it to think that anyone other than yourself had edited it.

Please feel free to reinstate the post in its original form, which it would still be in had most other members posted it, as they don’t have the ability to edit after three minutes, unlike you.

Thank you @Mistress Jules , I did amend my post because, upon reflection, it could be interpreted as calling your integrity into question and I would never do that and would not wish to be even thinking it or give cause to any members to question it for a nanosecond.

I removed these references but otherwise tried to maintain the flow of the thread.

You alone picked up on this thread and hopefully got the problem resolved.

I can't put the words back exactly as they were, but I was wondering in my post just how someone could claim to delete something with just one click - my experience with photos is that it takes two clicks.

    Suitably admonished :(

Mistress Jules, May I kindly ask You to clearify, before the rest of us in here starts to wonder if there is yet another layer of user rights in-between mods and "normal" users. So if You please would enlighten me and many others. I thought that only mods has the rights and tools to edit posts after 3 minutes...
Help me out please - I'm a bit confused.. of just an ignorant ;-) Your call :)

OH - Maid Carrie just tipped in , as I hit the send button;-)

I can tell you @BlueEyes - some years ago I helped to beta test a new system with a few others and it may be a hangover from that.

There was a long thread involving myself, Philfred and Slave stroppy on this a few years back as well.

I would add that I very rarely use the facility :) Hopefully I have satisfactorily explained above why I felt the need to use it on this occasion ? :)

Thank you for drawing our attention to this Blue Eyes. It seems now that we have another discrepancy which needs investigating.

No discrepancy whatsoever - a facility granted for services rendered is my take on it.

And, as I recall, one that you had before being upgraded - and made use of from time to time? And not "inadvertently".

I was never at all aware of having any extra editing privileges that other members lacked.
Nonetheless it doesn't seem very fair at all and it will be looked into.

Now you are being completely disingenuous on this matter - which is disappointing in a Moderator. You were well aware that you had extra privileges for some reason.

You are quoted in this post http://www.chastitymansion.com/forums/index.php?threads/anal-stretching-game.2439/page-5#post-59413 yet the post and a number of others in that thread were deleted by you before becoming elevated - as we discussed at the time.

I am surprised you weren't so assiduous on the thread topic than this minor matter of which you have been aware for years - or am I?

Fine - it appears as if CM needs to streamline privileges - and bring extra-edit rights to the ones who is supposed to have them, and no one else. At the same time - it could be sensible to define a code of conduct for deletion of unwanted, and inappropriate post. There can indeed be reasons to why post must be deleted, but I would like to see a common set of rules, known to everybody. The current "power game", finger pointing and uncertainty regarding privileges does not serve CM well.

It makes us all a bit uncomfortable....

It would be a fine and wise gesture if admin and mods defined the rules and made them public.....

Then we can all move forward from this shaky limbo...

I did indeed delete some of my postings a year or two ago. However I fail to see how this indicates an awareness of having had any special editing privileges.
