However I would also say that you need a metal device if you want to stay locked longer. I found a cheap one (around 30€) that's relatively light weight and easy to clean. It's a bird cage design. But you're right for 24/7 lookup, weight definetly is an issue if you don't wear a harness. If you've got a little time you can use a rope as a harness and weight isn't an issue anymore, the device will sit safely and secured. Concerning your chaffing problem: use little drops of baby oil to lubricate the ring. This way you minimize friction. Your skin won't get dry and there won't be any 'medical' reasons to take off the cage.

Unfortunately quality comes at a price. But the cheap cages are good enough for me for now. Unlocking every two or three days for cleaning and then putting it back on isn't that much of a problem. Is it?
