Top vs center mount post on base ring

    I just noticed that on my MCN contender as well as the Jailbird, the post that connects the two parts is attached to the center of the base ring. On all of my chinese knockoffs the post is mounted on the top of the ring. I was wondering what benefits, if any, the different styles have and if anyone has a preference.

    personally I dont think it makes any difference, i've used both

    Mine is on the top.... works well.

    My biggest issue with the post is that I must remove the ring as well as the cage if my wife wishes to use me - because the post causes well... not-fun pain for her.

    In search of a similar cage, but a flat base ring+attachment method.....

    assuming you have removed the cage, would rotating the ring so the post is below the scrotum eliminate the need to remove the ring?
