    Hello,

I am experiencing some problem I didn't find a solution for so far.
From time to time using chat new messages will appear in seperate boxes as shown in the attachement. My question now yould be how i can deactivate these rather annoying notifications especially as not all messages that will be shown as notification will appear in the catbox itself...

    Thanks in advance,

    Astarte

I see you have Chrome & Firefox browsers, does it do the same thing with both (Also try IE) as it may be a browser
    problem.

Its the same with the Safari browser also, but the popup chats don't bother me at all. Then again i'm not a Female being harassed every 2 f'g seconds either.

Best of luck finding a solution.

This sort of issue needs to go to Admin as it seems to be a site issue, however I would think it would be low priority.

to me it seems that it might be due to some setting - can not find the ones responsible though...

There is a little icon on the bottom right of the screen on the chat bar that lets you hide it if you want.

I get those pop up notifications too but only if I'm busy in another window. I find it quite useful since I can work away here on my computer and still enjoy the odd chat which is a nice distraction sometimes. Why you would need pop up notifications like that on the same page is quite beyond me.

I get the popups regardless but usually ignore them. I seldom (though I do occasionally) use the chat but frankly I'm not too bothered about the issue.

I would refer you to the post made by @Administrator on 30 October last year when he brought in the update and notifications - http://www.chastitymansion.com/forums/index.php?threads/mini-chat-improvements.13841/

It can be both useful and a nuisance. :p

Nuisances to me are unruly subbies. A slight problem with the running of a website can be overlooked.

Errrm - I think if you had read the post I linked to you would have seen that it is not a problem with the running of the site at all.

To save you the trouble of actually reading a post her is what he said:
    2) Desktop Notifications. If you are using google chrome, you will see a bar appear at the top of the screen asking you if you wish to allow Desktop Notifications for this site. Click 'Allow'. Now if you receive a message whilst browsing another site (Why would you do that?! :p ) Then you will receive a pop up box in the top right corner telling you that you have a new message, the message content, and who it is from.

I suspect it may now have been extended to all browsers. You know what these techies are like, always wanting to tweak and improve things with add-ons to make the experience better for the end user.

It can be a nuisance when one is holding multiple conversations and they notifications come in fast and furious. But also useful if busy elsewhere on another site, as @Administrator said

I am not quite sure what you mean by "unruly subbies" in this context @Mistress B - do explain :)

So - back to the matter in hand :p - what to do if you don't want to have this feature working. Not a glitch - a feature :) And a feature in your browser as opposed to this site

I found this in Google suppport:
    1. In the top-right corner of the browser window, click the Chrome menu [IMG]
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Click Show advanced settings.
    4. In the "Privacy" section, click Content settings.
    5. In the dialogue that appears, scroll down to the "Notifications" section. Choose one of the following:
      • Allow all sites to show desktop notifications: let all sites automatically show you notifications.
      • Ask when a site wants to show desktop notifications: have Google Chrome alert you whenever a site wants to show you notifications. This is the default setting.
      • Do not allow any site to show desktop notifications: do not let any site show you notifications.
    6. Optional: Click Manage exceptions to block any sites, apps and extensions that already have permission to send you notifications
This should show you a list of sites, one of which is this one - click the X and it should disappear and hopefully you can say goodbye to Desktop Notifications on this site - or not LOL

Good luck with it - It sounds like a few folks may be interested to know how you get on :)
