I know this is a subject that has no doubt been discussed many times...But, I wanted to know if anyone had any experience using titanium locks that weren't designed for use in piercings? I've been looking for ones with small shackles, so far the smallest I've found is this 20mm ABUS padlock:

    http://www.nothingbutpadlocks.com/products/keyed-alike-padlocks/abus-65ti-20-ka-titalium

Lightweight, strong and weather resistant? Shackle size is 3.5mm, a bit larger than I'd like ideally.

I was also wondering if anyone had tried using aluminium padlocks as well? They seem to make a lot of smaller sized locks out of this material. I'm looking to stay away from steel because of the weight aspect.

I've also got these links for padlocks and piercing jewellery designed for chastity specifically:

The locks with screws threading through instead of key access, I've read somewhere of people finding that the screws rust into the padlock over time and make them useless.

Failing everything else, I may have to invest in one from Lustlock after all, but the titanium ABUS ones look appealing.

Also, does anyone know if Steelwerks sell the lockable barbells separately? Has anyone had any experience purchasing them from the company?

Email steelwerks, I'm pretty sure they would sell them, they just aren't on the site.

Steelworxx.de has a stand alone lock you can buy as well.

Ooh I didn't see that one, thanks for the link :) I might do that actually. I enquired about the hood, I was looking at a quote of 600 Euros and up for the piece as a whole so I wonder how much a pair of barbells would cost...

You're welcome! If I find anymore, I will update the thread :)

Just thought I would update, I received a reply from Steelwerks and they do not sell their locking barbells separately. How annoying!

I know right, so disappointing...I'm wondering if there's a way to modify a regular barbell in someway as to need a screw to remove it. I'm working on that though lol.

I have also found aluminium padlocks with 3mm shackle:
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Master-Lock-9120EURQNOP-Aluminium-Padlocks/dp/B0016M1WY4

But I'm not sure how weather-proof and stain-proof aluminium is in comparison to titanium or steel.
