Base rings' major size deviation: CB6000s VS Mature Metal.

    After making an awful mistake by ordering Mature Metal's double base rings based on the smallest CB6000s I could wear almost daily I went to some real life measuring and discovered why my cage was slipping down.

    Thought I would share that with the community as it might come in handy to some thinking or are in the process of ordering a custom CD.

    MM gives option 1.25" to 3.75" at eighth-inch intervals, With the cb6k you just get five rings and pick the nearest.

    Hi looking at the sizes of the CB 6000 ring by your measurements it is a 1.48" diameter. That would make it the 1.5" ring not the 1.625" (1 5/8") ring. Please check my math on this but it looks like you may have been wearing the 1 1/2" ring after all.

    I did not get it wrong, in fact I've taken a few shots comparing MM's 1 5/8" to both CB's 1 5/8" and 1 1/2".

    Seriously guy,
    If you're ready to spend a few hundred bucks on a cage, pop the extra few first for the plastic rings. Try them til you find the smallest ring you can wear nonstop for an entire week. This worked perfectly for us. Good luck and keep us posted.

    Yeah just ordered ones.

    Also will measure the 5 (Smallest CB (supposedly 1 1/2") ring to see if there 2/8" difference as expected)

    It might surprise you how fast you can downsize the base rings at first.. Once you r body has settled out then you will be able to make a better decision on what size to order in base ring.

    Measured the 5th ring, and came up with 1.42" diameter.
    Now we can see the measurements A. L. Enterprises lists are not even remotely true.

    CB6000s (supposedly 1 1/2")
    Diameter (vertical): 1.307087"
    Diameter (horizontal): 1.535433"
    Average: 1.42"
