while i'm used to the jingle of my padlock banging off my metal cage as i walk around the house in pygamas or without, I was amused today that my padlock was banging away as noisely as possible all through work. As I walked the site with the foreman every step was awarded with a jingle. If they new what was around my cock I would have to leave. Has anybody else had similar issues or stories.

I have a steel cable security cable with a plastic case secured to my cage. It bounces up and down when I walk around naked (and sometimes when dressed).

I've used a little electrical tape around the padlock to deaden the sound. An alternative solution that is recommended is an elastic band to trap the lock and stop it jangling.

@Kontraband Some keyholders prefer to hear a jangle, it helps them to know that their caged one is actually moving and not idling about.

A very good point Mistress B however I thought I'd offer possible solutions to help with discretion.

My cage can sound like a bell sometimes. Pa ring on the inner metal tube clanging around. I have often wondered if anyone else can hear it.

We have two cats with bells to keep them from birds, I guess I'm not so far of that myself as I jingle jangle around the house.

The clacking of lock or even pa jewellery against a cage can be somewhat annoying at times especially if audible when dressed and not at home.
Rather than rubber bands those thread covered elastic bands people use in their hair do a good job of silencing the lock.

I agree with @Mistress B . That has been my experience. And i can appreciate your concern Kontraband, however, anyone recognising such a sound in public would surely only smile to themselves rather than phone the police or grab your crotch?
I would certainly enjoy hearing that sound coming from random males out and about in public.
Let it Jingle and clack I say.

Anyway you boys need to be more proud of your cutting edge status in society rather than ashamed.

I agree that hearing some ominous sounds from someones trouser might be a problen in certain situations like business meetings etc - even if it might be fun to mount the top of the device with a little bell at home... ;)

As for dampening the sound you can use a thick wanded shrinking tube. It's as effective as tape, but better looking and with a good side effect as you can use it as a kind of seal.

Apologies if it has already been posted. Either use rubber band to wrap around lock or to hold down the chastity device.

There is a new dawn upon us. Closing the curtains is not going to stop the sun from rising. It will simply remain dark in your house.

In public, there are never worries of the sound the lock makes on the cage ... the public will assume it is something in my pocket not on my cock. Now at home walking around in PJ's no one is going to assume it is stuff in my pocket ... lol ... so for me the concern is when at home depending on who all may be there (kids and there friends)

Thank you dan for pointing this out.
The only person capable of guessing would be another wearer or key holder.

Children and their friends (depending on age) probably wouldn't even think about it however if they are a little older they may wonder and if so and your concerned just carry some keys in your pocket

Yes...i occasionally hear the jingle jangle of padlock on steel... it has become a rather endearing sound now.. at first i was very conscious of it and tried to mask it..but then reflected, like many of you making comments above, that those who would recognise it for what it was ...would be amused..and most would completely miss the connection. i rather like it and occasionally smile to myself at the little clues it gives as i go about my work... ;-)

Personally I would love to hear that sound in public places.

Of course the other suggestion i forgot is to get a more secure device with an integrated lock/security screw instead. I do take on the point of many posters here (notably @Mistress B and @Mascara^Snake ) that the jingle can be fun and should heard however, for me I prefer to be as discrete as possible with such things in public so still would do what I could to reduce the sound.

Well then perhaps a member here with artistic bent could put together a little button or badge that could be worn out and about in public?.
