turning the key into jewelry

    Hello guys and girls,
    This is actually the firt time I ever started a post :cool:.
    I have a question regarding keys and wearing them. Currently, we use Looker02 with custom lock. Now the device is super, custom build, fits perfectly, everything like it was meanth to be. But the thing is, the key, which is your regular L02 key, is about 4cm long, quite bulky and is not a really pretty or sexy sight when worn around the neck, or on a charmbracelet, or even as an ankle charm. For that reason we are thinking of having it remade into something more jewelry-ish so she can wear it fulltime. Now, I'm certain some of you have had the same idea, or even had some keys allready remade .
    Yes, you can cut it, drill a hole in it...but are there any out there who had it totally remade by a jeweller, or a designer into something like a real jewel or charm and if so, would it be possible to post some pictures.
    Not that I would copy the best stuff, or use it to just copy your unique piece of jewelry, but to have an idea of what is possible.
    I do have ideas, but I'm certain that I'm not the most creative person around. Tips would be lovely, pictures would be fantastic. BTW, I'm from Antwerp/Belgium, so any adresses abroad would be great, but unfortunatly, not very handy ;-)

    Hey!

    I know my KH and I looked for a decorative key too..... Finding a nice one AND a secure lock was tricky..... Thank heavens for Ms Lori and her special keys!

    Another solution I read of on here is to use a decorative key as a symbolic gesture..... Whilst the real key is hidden... We used this method too!!

    I guess it's not the TOTAL thrill of knowing THAT key opens the device, but it was still a huge turn-on to know the MEANING of the decorative key around her neck.....

    So that's a possible way around it too....

    My husband has a plain master lock and there were two small metal keys with a plastic handle. He dremmel cut the plastic off the key and there was a metal part with a hole that was square shaped. Then he took that and put it on a piece of nice costume jewelry, a piece that fit on a chain and tied the two together with very thin brass wire. It looks nice. I will post a pic when I get that key back, it's hidden at the house. I have the plai key with me.

    I took the key to a jewelry maker and asked her to solder a silver ring to it. It was only €7 and ready in 1 week

    It all will work, but the thing is, I was thinking of something more charming to wear, as in like real jewelry. Sure, it is a key and has to functional, but She has got to love wearing it and showing it, without having to find an explanation for it every time someone ask what the key is for. Nobody cares or asks when you were a heartshaped figure on your neck. But when a key, looks like a key, people tend to ask what it's for.
    Plus, I recon when it looks nice, she will wear it more often too ;-)

He used some costume jewelry, the silver is 925, some super glue, and a fake coin. Also something called "sugru" it's like playdoh but it glues stuff. Here is the note that came with it. The front has a gold ring around it then silver then a blue gem that symbolizes your eye. (Your the apple of my eye) so then the back has the "glorious goddess of Liberty " from a us coin design, Liberty remains hidden though on your chest and your heart underneath. I can only see Liberty when your heart desires it, until your heart desires it is hidden but I know I will have to win your heart to see Liberty. On the front your blue eye is always watching to see what might make you show me Liberty. The whole key reminds me to choose my words wisely because your pretty blue eyes are watching and waiting for me to touch your heart so you will show me Liberty. ( corny huh?) I get all emotional with you, sorry if it's too corny. "Like apples of gold in settings of silver, so is a word skillfully spoken. proverbs 25: 11"

    The gem is like my eye and modeled after sconic book he read called dr strange. It is after dr stranges amulet called the eye of ammagoto or something. It could put things in suspended animation, always sees the truth and repels evil and demons .

    Have you got the link to that? I have been looking for a gift for my wife for the same reason, the Holy Trainer key is not very wearable. We thought about getting a symbolic key, but most of the ones I found were cheap and tacky. This looks much nicer.
