I have had my Jailbird for over a year now, bought used, but the measurements are good. When I bought it it had a 1 7/8" oval single base ring, and after 5-ish days it started chaffing under my sack. After trying several times using different lube and different types of underwear i finally talked with Mistress about having a different ring made. Got with Mature Metal and ordered a 1 7/8 round double base ring, along with having my current single made round and trued to 1 7/8". The service was awesome, well communicated, and back to me much sooner than expected. Unfortunately it must be a flaw in my anatomy, as i can still only get 5-6 straight days before it starts chaffing. Leaves a stripe about 1/8" wide and and inch long right under my sack that takes a week or better to fully heal. ring size is right on the recommended 1 finger free space, gap is comfortable at 3/8", but since it's always the same spot maybe I need more gap? Thoughts and ideas to get this to work?
I wouldn't lube at all as dried-out lube will increase the fictional resistance. If it doesn't work without lube for you you might try nylons instead. Just wrap it around scrotum and penis so that half of the nylon is on each side of the a ring. Doesn't look good and it won't be a lasting solution, but it's a good way to find out if it's only a frictional problem.
Not sure i will be given another chance to try long term wear. Mistress Wolf is not happy with the outcome.
Politely asked Mistress Wolf if i might try long term lock up one more time after making an adjustment to the ring gap. She has granted this request, but only once i am completely healed. fingers crossed, but if it does not work i will have to ask Mistress WOlf if i should offer teh Jailbird up for sale, or keep it for short term use of 3-4 days max.
The gap can easily be adjusted if you find that is the issue. Burning under the scrotum is the 1st sign of a gap that is too small.
I ovaled mine the opposite way they come to give more sack room all I need is some hand cream around base ring once a day
MistressMatureMetal, I just saw this post, not sure how I missed it before. I may make one more adjustment and try it again, but currently have it up pending sale, with a smaller caged one standing by for purchase.
Does it start as an itching sensation before it turns sore? I experience this on-and-off. The experience for me is that this is due to the skin being folded and trapping moisture causing a fungal type infection. When I experience this, I treat it with an anti-fungal medication then antiperspirant. If it's not too sore, rubbing alcohol helps me too.
no, but thanks. What I get is a thin line right where the ring is against the scrotum, thinking that MistressMatureMetal's recommendation for more gap will be the fix. Would try tweaking the gap a little, but have a pending buyer, and another seller holding a Jailbird with better measurements for me.
I'm actually having the same problem. Haven't been able to use mine for more than 3 days at a time. I'm trying to clarify. You're talking about the gap between the cage and ring or the size of the ring?
I have the same problem with my CB3000 then HTv2 now Jail Bird. If you figure out how to solve the problem please let me know your solution. Thanks
Different positions that push up on the cage pull the base ring down my scrotum. When the base ring is not tight up against my body, it chaffs and makes me raw and sore. For example, sitting in my recliner pushes up on the cage. Sometime my pants, especially jeans are tight on the cage and push it up, also making it chaff. I've also found that lube on my scrotum makes it slide easier, thereby making me chaff and get sore. I need it to not move. My balls are small and the lube can make for a somewhat undesired and painful exit through the gap for the smaller of the two. Not lubing, keeps everything more static and more comfortable. It also helps to take a few seconds to pull the scrotum down when you take a trip to the bathroom so that the base stays tight. I purchased a smaller base. It's too tight and makes me sore. We're all different. Ya just gotta experiment until you find what works for you.
I have seen some elsewhere with a curved base ring that looks more like a potato chip (top to bottom curves toward the back, side to side curves away from the body), looks like it would follow the natural lines of the anatomy better, and provide more room at the bottom center due to the curve. Not sure if that is something that can be done on a JB, but kind of a moot point right now as I had to sell mine and am currently cageless.
As mentioned by caged wolf above. I have a Jailbird and i took my oval base ring...put it in my vice, with leather padding and gave the bottom of the ring a few smacks with a rubber mallet. This bent the bottom of the ring away from my ball sac. Make sure your hitting it in the correct direction. The leather padding in the vice is important so you don't create rough spots on the ring where the vice bites in.[/QUOTE]
This was the exact issue I have with the CB-6000; extremely painful for long-term wear especially after long periods of sitting down. I have ordered a MM Queen's Keep to see if a custom fit device will help solve this problem. I am pretty certain that it's because the base ring doesn't sit close enough to the body and thus pulls the scrotum up when sitting down; as the cage is pushed upwards by trousers/pants. No problem when wearing nothing/tracksuit. Will update when it arrives. @Caged Wolf did you ever solve this problem?
