I can share experiences. Cage 7: Pro: easy to put on and take off, even when aroused. Various locking options (padlock, numbered one-time lock, "permanent" lock, internal lock). Con: With the same internal dimensions, slightly wider so more visible. The PA hook is made of nylon and cannot be replaced with other material. The large air holes give the skin room to form bubbles. They go away very quickly, but should still be mentioned. Bijou: Pro: more low-profile, smoother design Different decorative patterns possible smaller air holes without the possibility of the skin pressing through PA hooks also available in metal Con: not quite so easy to put on (and maybe take off), especially when aroused.
What do you mean by bubbles in the skin? Skin protruding through and causing a indent when cage is removed?
I'm not pierced yet, what should I set the piercing offset to? I have read that it's better to leave .kre meat than a fashion piercing if using for a cage
These are irritations in the skin that look very much like blisters and a re filled with fluid. I am prone to getting them with the metal cage I have but have more luck with the nylon cage my wife bought me. They don't cause me pain but do require being cage free for a couple of days to go away.
I think you should wait until you're pierced to measure it properly. Don't guess. I have done the ball-trap version of both cages. I much prefer the Orion/Bijou style. The Cage 7/8 have a tendency to pinch underneath where the arms connect to the tube piece. It happens when you get hard, they expand, you get soft, sometimes skin gets trapped. Do yourself a favor and measure several times too, just to be sure you have the dimensions.
When I wore a Cage 7 I ended up with a urinary track infection from the plastic PA pin. I then acquired a Bijou with a 4gauge titanium PA pin. After several years the Bijou is still locked on 24/ 7. 'nuff said.
ball trap or no ball trap ? I can have the piercer adjust the location based on the cage, no? im also trying it with a security ring like the lori cages have now. i have a idea how that can work without first piercing as my wife is not keen on the idea of me pierced
Wrong Sequence! 1) search a skilled piercer 2) tell him/her you plan to stretch and put weight on the piercing 3) let him/her decide the right placement 4) exhale for 1 second 5) piercing done 6) let heal 7) stretch up to not less than 4GA / 5mm (better bit more) 8) measure and order custom cage
No ball trap. I would NOT get a device first, then the piercing. Please reference Neanders sequence list above.
