In 2022 a virus spread around the globe. The symptoms were quite mild, slightly worse than a cold, but it lasted for roughly a month. Everybody was terrified how it was going to develop, but as quickly as it started, it just drifted away. Some people managed to evade it, some suffered for about 3 weeks, others lasted a couple of months - but nobody died, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

However, it became clear in the following year that the effects did not just disappear.

10 months after the virus was left as a small notable event, midwives noticed very quickly that something strange was happening. Children were being born as usual, the only difference being, there were far more girls. After a couple of months of this, the rates were put at 82% girls and 18% boys being born globally. It was consistent area to area and country to country, and it didn’t stop.

The timing of all this starting 9 months after the virus did not go uncommented. Lots of research was done, conspiracy theories born, many people saying the virus was spread for this very reason. Regardless, now 40 years later there is still no consensus on WHY. But things have definitely changed.

    Things have had to change.

Men are now only 18% of the population, and are treated very differently. We go to different schools, we no longer have the vote and we all have an owner.

At 18, following boys school, you are given one of three paths - chosen by a panel of teachers (all women of course):
    1 - husband
    2 - maid
    3 - breeder

The breeders are rare, I never had a chance of being chosen. They live in manors and centres which are extremely extravagent with some of the Leaders (rich and powerful women), they are there to breed with other women who book appointments. The breeders also share a team of maids with the Leaders, so they can also control some other men.

Husbands are offered as brides to women who can afford them. Your life depends hugely on who buys you, some are looking for something more traditional, others are very demanding.

Everyone else, including me, is a maid. You work most of the time in public buildings, or manors/centres, and are often deployed to different places depending on what is required. Any women, and then any breeder has complete authority over you. That is my role.
