I saw this in my Twitter feed, and can't help thinking every F/m relationship would benefit from one of these and a semi-permanently locked make chastity device. https://www.meredithrosengallery.com/anna-uddenberg
Wow! Quite the piece of art, and quite provocative. Thanks for sharing as I would have never ever discovered that on my own. Also, I’m really glad the docent was willing to pose in one so we could see the artist’s intent. (And having her in black nylons, pumps, and pencil skirt was very sexy).
art can be something wonderful and fascinating, especially when it comes to supposedly meaningful everyday objects.
It’s ugly as hell. As art it neither tickles the eye nor does it make bdsm seem attractive to the public. As a 2nd generation German I say those people are sprockets nuts.
I do have to smile at the press release that accompanies the work in the original link. It’s quite the “word salad” that probably brings to mind both the best and the worst of modern art.
I doubt the artist's goal included either of the two things you mention, though. She was not out to make something pretty, and I seriously doubt she was trying to make BDSM attractive. Probably she was trying to make something thought provoking or intriguing, and it's whether she succeeded there is what I'd probably judge the work on.
incredible design !! It's quite a statement to have this exposed in your living room !! I can imagine the discussion it would trigger when the mailman comes for the calendar sale in january !! LOL
Haha, I had to look up the word 'docent', such is the fun of US vs UK English! That Lady is also an artist in her own right, and has modelled (if that's the right word) for Uddenberg in other installations. Sally von Rosen is her name: http://www.mega-foundation.com/abou...IF-brYQObGPbgc9WVLWVIfLkZC8Jr_G1dZCUoZ4DBqBZM
Oh, she succeeded in making something "thought provoking." It provoked the thought "man, some artists are loons." And some people like their creations. I'd rather have a simple queening chair, myself.
So of course I went down the internet rabbit hole from your link! von Rosen’s current exhibit in Stockholm includes this item. Very interesting, oddly beautiful to my eye, though clearly not for practical use.
Honestly the best artist / inventor / maker of performance art remains Gord. Dude was an absolute legend. https://www.houseofgord.com/
You know, I never really thought of his work as “art “, but I will now. I think it qualifies. I was always very impressed with his creativity, builder talent, and also his concern for safety of his models. They might have been extremely uncomfortable, and maybe even scared, but it’s apparent that he was not going to put them in real danger so there was a high degree of mutual trust. And major kudos to his models who were willing to engage in his predicaments. I do hope they enjoyed the experiences.
anyone that can build a car out of a fucking machine, tie a woman into bondage inside, strap a rocket into the back, and launch this contraption down a racetrack safely is a pretty talented guy.
he was! His work is just amazing, and there were quite a few of his scenes my Madam wanted to try out.
