At times it is a barren wasteland of "hi" followed by a different "hi" 34 minutes later. "How are you?" is often never resolved. People randomly say "hello" and then are never heard from again. Sometimes, the stories defy reality.
The chat room may also be the best feature here. It sometimes gets very real. Connections get made. Questions get pondered and thoughtfully discussed. "Thank you all so much" shows up frequently. I've also been there when it genuinely gets erotic and hot in all the best ways.
I'm not sure I'd still be here if it weren't for some of the people I've met in the chat room. They're the ones I keep in touch with. For me, its those interactions - some preposterous, some hilarious and some deeply meaningful - that create what endures.
To be sure, be warned, your mileage will vary. It's imperfect. But it can, in fact, be perfect.
