Newbie question for those who wear belts/devices: how long did it take before being locked started to feel “normal”?

I’m newly belted for my partner, & while I’m enjoying the delicious little secret of it all — especially when we’re out together — my brain is still convinced I’m walking around with a neon sign that says, “Yes, I’m locked. No, I’m not in charge here.”

At one point during a solo shopping trip, a guy started flirting with me while I was locked, & my brain immediately went, “Oh no, he knows.” Completely irrational, obviously… but also not exactly ruining the thrill.

Did that public self-consciousness fade for you, or did you just learn to enjoy it?

It fades away...little by little and with each new benchmark you pass. It might be wearing it to work one day, or out to a diner, or visiting family for a holiday. I am locked 24/7 currently and don't even realize that I am secured in a chastity device 95% of the time. Sometimes my Wife will lock it and leave it for weeks or months, after years of "playing" with chastity, it is now real, but the day-to-day errands have to be run and since we haven't won the lotto yet, I still have to get up and go to work on Monday.

We had a trial period. It was about a month long. Wear during the day for longer and longer then sleeping caged. So basically I was wearing it 24 hours a day by the end of 3 weeks. The 4th week I wore it the whole week. It’s almost like a challenge. What really got me was, on fridays it’s a maintenance day not the whole day but she unlocks me before we shower I clean my cage and trim what needs to be. We shower together and after we are done rinsing the soap off I put a deep conditioner in her hair and rinse myself off again and get out. Well she wasn’t happy with how her hair felt so she deep concerned again. It took some time for her to do it. I don’t really know what I thought but I was trying to put my cage on while she was still in the shower. It’s like just normal to wear it

I honestly don’t remember when being locked up became “normal” for me. It was literally love at first lock for me. My first day in chastity changed me forever and 3 years later, I don’t feel comfortable out of the cage even for a moment. I only unlock for hygiene just once a week for a few minutes and that’s literally the only time I’m out of the cage.

As for public self-consciousness, I used to be concerned but not afraid of my relatives and coworkers finding out I’m in chastity because I don’t live in a kink-friendly town… But some time last year, I decided just admit to it if someone asks and if they try to make a fuss about it, then I’ll firmly say “There’s nothing to talk about, unless you wanna try it yourself. Then I’m definitely the guy you wanna talk to about it!” I haven’t had to use those lines (yet), but I imagine it would turn the tables pretty quickly. Also, I don’t have to worry about having a casual conversation with anyone, because since I’m not looking to get laid, there’s no fear of rejection. That’s a real confidence booster.

I used to be a full time masturbator (at least several times per day), so if someone like me can grow confident in chastity, then really anyone can. You just need time. Let yourself adapt and adjust at a comfortable pace and don’t try to rush/push yourself.

I have been caged many times , I'd say keep it lubed so you don't get rubbed raw ,and after a week or maybe less it will feel normal physically and your mind will be at peace .
