I have tried many different types of cages / rings in various sizes and i have always had same problem getting sore spot right where penis/ball sack separates on my left side. I have tried different lubes, belts etc. But nothing really made the difference. Always 2-4 days and sore spot is there. I just recently read discussion here and someone was using little bit baby powder after washing/drying. I just thought why not try it myself and just like that my problem was solved. I am quite high and tight so it was all the time moisture (sweat, lube) that caused everything. Never thought solution could be this simple.

Just wanted to leave this here if anyone else is struggling with similar problems and havent tried baby powder yet.

I have been using Johnson's Baby Oil Gel for years.
My lady bought me a 1/2 dozen bottles years ago
telling me at the time that .. I was going to need them
Alas cant get it now and I am running out

I have spoken to someone at johnsons for whom english was not her fiorst language unfortunately
but managed to discern that Johnsons have discontinued the baby oil gel

which has set me off seeking a replacement

oil is too messy and obviously I will not be using talc
but suggestions will be welcome

For me, my skin has definitely adapted to the cage. At the start, I would get a sore spot after a couple of days wear at about 30° left of centre on the base ring. I learned to apply some A&D Ointment as soon as I noticed the beginning of the sore spot, and it would clear up after a few days. As time went on, it took longer before the sore spot appeared. Now, after about 2.5 years of mostly full time use of the cage, it has been several months since I've needed to use the A&D Ointment.

Recommendation based on my experience (your body may respond differently than mine) -

  • find something that soothes the skin and allows it to recover while still wearing the cage
  • apply this magic "something" as soon as you notice a sore spot starting to appear
  • stop using the magic "something" once the sort spot has completely recovered to hopefully eventually cause the skin to become happy with the cage

This is really helpful. I am learning the coping ways for the burning feel under the ring. Especially since my Mistress is not telling me how long it is to my next removal and certainly not to my next release. Timeless in her mind it seems.

I've done a lot of self locking in past years so the burning is not unfamiliar. I find a touch of silicone lube seems to relieve my burning. It's worse after my morning erections. I know my body is adjusting to it being constrained, and in time that will fade. The longest I've been between removals in my past is 14 days so I have a ways to go with learning endurance.

Actually, that burning on the one side of the ring is my only lingering discomfort. Otherwise, the cage feels a part of me, like it's natural to have it on. Well. until those middle of the night erections...there a walk to the bathroom to urinate relaxes me. I should add I'm 65 and no longer have the ongoing all the time erections I did as a younger man. So maybe that is an "advantage" to me?

I'm trying LANACANE Anti-Chafing Gel as recommended somewhere here I think. Seems to work well.

Over time I have tried many different products as each and all have. I have found Aquaphor to work best for me. After some time was able to wean my skin off of it. As my skin and body grew acclimated. For myself during the journey. I shaved and kept clean at all times, then waxing once every 4-5 weeks definitely a great improvement.

This is really good advice!

The only thing I would add: you may get irritation under the base ring under your scrotum no matter how long you've been wearing a ball trap cage because of the skin folds that occur. I use a dab of a product called Chamois Butt'r (you can find it on Amazon) after every shower. It is not water based or petroleum based and doesn't absorb into the skin. I can get my finger tip just beneath the ring to apply it.

Sometimes I have an irritation that develops at the point where the anti pullout of my Vice Mini impinges the skin beneath the glans. This occasionally happens after too many intense erection attempts. I've successfully treated this without removing the cage with a squirt of a little water based lube at the narrow opening right at that spot several times a day until things settle down; I am not able to remove the cage to treat it. I can't apply Chamois Butt'r in this tight spot but I can direct a tiny squirt of lube in the narrow opening beside the anti pullout.
