Carole Bouquet
"That obscure object of desire"
Whilst not a mistress in the sense of a dominatrix, the character (and this tied pantygirdle scene in particular) was perfection in terms of tease and denial. I'd really hope someone on here watches it on a slow Sunday because it's such a gem
And a later scene with Angela Molina (same character, two actresses...) was also memorable for its delicious evilness
If you like films featuring denial, then this was peak cinema artistry and profoundly erotic to a teenage me.
Most people have never heard of it because it's subtitled and quite slow even for surrealist art house.
I really wish they would make films like this now, but there probably isn't the writing talent any more, nor an audience unaffected by tiktok
If you want something similar but with a complicated unwilling dominatrix figure, then try "The Duke of Burgundy",
which is really more about the sub's desperation to be dominated.
Audition, a 1999 Japanese horror film, whilst very shocking, is also oddly teasingly erotic. I'm not sure I'd have the stomach to watch it again though
