Quite an incredibly innovative, talented human being. He paved the way for the likes of Elton, Madonna and Lady Gaga and even Rob Zombie with his shocking histrionics and video. He grew and evolved as music changed and evolved yet he was always unique. He was also the first male performer I saw on late night over the air TV pre-MTV performing in pantyhose, a skirt, heels, a pirate like shirt and make up on The Blue Jean Network back in the 70s. "Heroes" by far and away one of the most powerful songs ever written...so much emotion in the screeching guitars, the intoxicating bass lines, and his lamenting wail which ends at a fevered crescendo as the song fades to black.
