I posted this thread here earlier looking for a maker who can make a custom device for me; I've not had any success finding one that can do it.

So I'm designing, prototyping and machining out of metal a device of my own!

I'm a few prototypes in and converging on a design with minor tweaks. I wanted to share my progress so far before committing to metal

Very interesting. Are your prototypes plastic or coated metal? I'd like to see how the new lockable PA works with the cage.

These are all plastic. once I settle on a design, I'll be making it in metal

So essentially a variation on a schandemaske. What is the little loop towards the end on most of those?

I'm not really understanding the locking mod to a curved barbell. Looks more like you want to lock it to something, rather than locking it onto you and being unremovable. There is locking piercing jewelry commercially available that make it impossible (ideally) to unscrew a ball to remove it. Steelwerks makes an L-shaped PA bar that has a flat button on the shaft side, then the tip end goes through a hole at the end of the cage and is screwed on with a security screw. Aside from the security aspect, it's more comfortable as you don't have a big ball pressing on you inside the cage.
