Not forgotten it when going away but sometimes do when we're out for the evening. If something happened I would be able to unlock him.

I carry a small safe in my messenger with a number plastic lock on it just in case I have an emergency. She can check it whenever she wants to see if I "cheated" but she hasn't felt the need to check it. Maybe you should invest in something like this... and if you want something more secure she you get one of those home key boxes realtors use to store a key when selling a house.
