What do people want to read...Should it be penis or cock or something else. I always feel like if a female on this site reads those names, it will offend them. I know we are all grown-ups here, but it makes me feel like I'm swearing in front a person who doesn't want to hear it. Maybe it's just me...

I don’t think anybody should be offended my the anatomically correct names... but personally I avoid direct reference unless absolutely required
That’s said, again in my opinion, it’s often more the context a word is used that the actual word it’s self.

My opinion is the same. I think we should encourage enough tolerance of others here that we let that person use the name or word they prefer. My personal pet peeve is the word “clitty” for a penis but I understand the user’s preference and I get myself over it.

And I should have said that I don't want to offend anyone, male or female...

I generally used medical terms, as that is straight forward. Of course, i also refer to things the way my Mistress requires. Just depends on whom i am chatting with.

You nailed it. Context is everything.
Some of the best descriptive words regarding sex and anatomy can feel 'flat' if used carelessly. However when wrapped up within a paragraph or two that builds some energy, the choice word becomes spectacular. I guess I'm speaking more from a writing viewpoint, but I do think about the words even on here.
At the end of the day, considering the nature of this forum, I don't overthink it much.
Say what you feel in the moment, we are all adults here.

I agree about the context thing, however, there must be dozens of slang terms for the penis and this is 2020, so I find it difficult to understand why anyone would be offended by any of them, especially in a kink site like CM.

By contrast, there are also lots of slang terms for the vagina, but I fully understand why some of those are extremely offensive.

It's a funny old world we live in.

My wife stopped using the anatomical or slang names years ago as it implies that I am at least of average size. Consequently I am only allowed to refer to mine as little or petite pee pee.

    Context is king (or queen).

Some journals / blogs refer to a penis or a vagina, and that is the right term for them when read with everything else on the page (or site), whereas others will say cock or cunt and it fits perfectly with what is written.

I prefer penis, testicles or balls and vagina or pussy, I think those can be used in most entries without any offensive or vulgar connotations or associations to them, whereas cock or cunt are harsher and more often sexualised.

I also think the sex (or gender identity if I'm trying to be modern) of the person writing the post plays into it. If a "vulva owner" wants to refer to it as a cunt, then so be it, but for a penis owner to refer to one somehow seems disrespectful.

Old fashioned, probably, but as usual, there is no one size fits all (unless its a penis cage, then go small ;))

Hahaha I think anything you want, most are open minded and aware everyone has different mindsets or preferences.

keep it in the context of your thread/ discussion and you’ll be fine.
