So, I cycle frequently (~ 10-15 miles 5x/week) and for those I don’t unlock but I’m not in a ball trap device. If I go for longer rides, >15 miles I like to take it off.

I’ve tried super tight bike shorts and that didn’t work well… when I wore the jailbird I had to remove it before any rides… just couldn’t make it comfortable to wear and ride, even with a lot of chamois cream.

I ride up to 100 miles at a time, so solution has to be comfortable. Only solution so far is uncaged.

Never even tried it. Have had (thankfully rare) issues with saddle sores without wearing a cage, so am not going to throw a cage into the mix.

Have gone as far a 7 miles thou must admit certainly got a noticeable look at the discrete cafe i visited on the way back home pic of shorts on profile. Thou definitely couldn’t go any further distance would need to remove. ‍♂️‍♀️

I do a lot of off road cycling, and wearing a cage is a big No No, luckily my KH let me have the spare key the 1st time, and I had to stop and release (with her permission) in an isolated spot, really uncomfortable to carry on with it in place.

I use my bicycle on a daily basis to go to work, two times half an hour. I prefer to keep the base-ring against the font of the saddle, so I don't sit on it. I recently put a saddle that I once bought for my wife (designed for females), on my bike. The saddle is less long than the male version and therefore much more comfortable to ride with the cage on. Riding 10 km twice a day is fine, I didn't do long distances yet, but I think it might be possible.

I only do 5-10 miles per ride and found the shorter the cage the better.

I ride several miles as part of my commute and have been fine. I have ridden up to 50 miles while caged.

One thing to note when people commute to work with no issues, this is very different from road bikes in very tight bib shorts.

Based on the OP profile picture, I assume he is asking about roadbiking, at least my response was based on that. I am pretty sure I could commute on a city bike if I tried, but road bikes are a big no.

Did anybody ever tried one of the saddles of ISM? They are not cheap, but I can imagine they make wearing a cage much more comfortable. Even on a road bike!

For me, the problem is the testicles, which become more exposed and I sit on them.

I can handle small trips (although it gets into the realm of minor punishment) but for long routes or rough roads the only solution I see is to take it off

I know this from the time when I experimented with "conventional" devices. The distraction in traffic is also far too much, which I had to learn the hard way twice. Out of sheer luck, there was no more serious and fatal accident.
My solution: PA piercing and tube only device (without A ring). You don't even notice its presence on the bike.

I ride on mountain and road bike and I also have a indoor road bike. When I want to go out with my bicicles I have to ask my wife for the key but many times in labour day she is not at home so I can’t get it. Sometimes She is at home but doesn’t want I go out, them I try indoor cycling but only 30 or 35 minutes because the pain in my balls. I would like to find a real solution to this because chastity is what we want, even more than cycling ☺️

I think the shape of my ring (flat on the inside) and chamois butt'r prevent that from happening to me.

I ride all the time with my cage. No problem at all. But it's not long distance, rather mountain biking. I feel it is actually a bit more comfortable than without. Keeps my balls up and out of the way.

You could try one of those soft cages that are made of silicon I think and put it on just for the ride. I can ride up to about 30 miles with my steel MCN cage. It really depends on seat type , cage , and your anatomy. You just have to experiment. Oh I forgot. And pain tolerance.

Sunny day today in Madrid so after lunch I cleaned the kitchen and the I asked my wife permission to ride outside. She said Yes but caged because last mi day I play myself and She know it. So, I take my KTM mountainbike and rode 55 km. I have had to stop for a break three times. When I for Home my balls were in pain but not so much. She asked me about that because She likes ride on Bycycle too. On monday We will go together. She told me I will caged.
    I ADORE HER!!

I can do casual riding with my cage on but not mountain biking. Tried it before and thought I'd popped the boys hitting the saddle on a drop. That was the last time for that

Last saturday we rodé almost 45km together. I mean, my Wife/KH/Owner and me. Of course I was caged. Today I call Her for permission to go out with The mountain bike because The weather is nice. She gave it to me and I rode about 40 km. I feel some little pain and punched but I am improving.

I'm a long-time cyclist, both as a commuter (~7 miles each way) and distance cyclist, riding a carbon road bike. My basic rule is under 25-30 miles I stay locked, over that I unlock, so all commutes are locked and solo rides too. On longer group rides (>50 miles) I'm unlocked. although I have done metric century locked. Key for me is a short sock over package and pulled up/balls forward with ring just off the front of saddle.

I think that's the key to my success with riding locked as well. When I rode unlocked, I used to have to pull everything up and forward to prevent discomfort. It's actually a little easier to do that now because I just grab the padlock and pull to do that; I don't have to reach further in to pull my scrotum up/forward.
