IMPORTANT INFORMATION Another scam alert

Thank you @L-u-c-y. I wonder whether it would be a good idea to require sellers to include a picture with their nick and posting date written on paper alongside shots of the item for sale? Still no gurantees but at least it will help ensure the seller at least owns the item?

 

Hi i have been dealing with him and i have also been scammed.

 

Not at first. But at the end i did. He has scammed Me for 380 euro. I have reportet to the Danish police, my bank and PayPal

 

To those who have been scammed. What was the sequence of events, and what should people look out for?

@L-u-c-y is it possible to restrict seller privileges until a member reaches a certain level (would the trophy system work)? Then, only someone actively engaged in the community can advertise. Same for the KH/Sub forum therefore preventing the men or Findommes that have just joined from posting in the classified section. I think it would result in less admin, and discourage the phishing behaviour in the first place, as it would be too much work.

 

Though ideally it might be better to just restrict them from starting a thread in those forums, but allowing them to respond to a thread created by a long-term member.

 

I think chastityforums has this policy, it makes sense to me, be here for a while before you can just lob up and try to sell something. CM is a great community, I’ve bought and sold here with no problems, but it relies on trust and honesty for it to work.

 

I generally try to stay away from profiles that are new. They always seem suspicious to me

 

What's your opinion of an expensive item? As you know.most custom chastity devices are expensive. Granted most will never get back what they paid for such item, but again at what point is an item considered expensive. Just asking since I know I have multiple cages that don't quite fit well and don't where all custom stainless steel ones from all of the world, so now I guess if I ever did want to sell them I have to use eBay, vs using this platform and having direct access to people who would be more likely to buy them.

I'm not against what youre doing just saying it's going to make those who are real and selling a real product that much harder to sell it if being banned based on a one size fits all price limit on for sale items or you'll be banned kind of doesn't make sense to me. Granted I'm sure that's not what it will be I'm sure you and the other moderators will have to fine tune it and find what works best for protecting everyone involved.

See that makes sense. Like I said I'm sure you and the other moderators had a more specific guide line for who and how you would choose to ban an individual. Thank you for clarifying

 

I can absolutely feel for those who are getting conned. I remember me selling a signed idol photo book when I was in my uni and a person who seemed to be reputable enough on that forum asked me to ship the item to him first. The person went silent as soon as the item was dispatched. Gosh I should have reported that to the police.
