Quick backstory, I had a Neosteel Fun, it was perfectly fitted after I found the right waistband (second hand) and made my own rear cable of the correct length. Then marital problems occurred and decided to sell my belt in a hurry, still kicking myself for that but oh well. Now things are much better at home and I wanted to get a new belt. I obtained this She-male belt recently and it was close to a fit for me but also required some modification.

First, I didn't any interest in the extra shield the She-male model has, but the way the belt fits together it cannot be used with out it, the rear cable attaches to the secondary shield rather than the main shield. What I did to address this was make a simple plate that attaches to the main shield. It required one small hole to be drilled into the main shield but otherwise the belt can easily be converted back to a She-male but now is pretty much like the Sports model. The new plate attaches to the original post and then a single screw prevents it from being removed, while the belt is worn there is is really not way to take this apart. Here's what it looks like, as you can see I don't have the finest metal working skills but I can make stuff that's functional at least.

The next thing I had to do was made a new rear cable as the original was too short, I also ended up making a new rear attachment plate as well. In the past I have made my own cables with 4mm stainless cable and marine grade heatshrink. Neosteel cables appear to be a 4mm steel wire but a much thicker coating producing a cable thats around 8mm thick where mine were 5-6mm and a lot more flexible. This time around I decided to try using 6mm stainless cable, so after sourcing some parts (which I'll link below in case anyone is interested) I was able to make a new cable. The 6mm cable and tubing was a bit harder to work with. Here's what it looks like before crimping on the tube to make the connector:

I ended up using 2 layers of heatshrink, the first was a 1/4" heatshrink which I hade to slide on before attaching the second connector, and be careful not to damage it while crimping and drilling the tube which allows the wire to connect to the belt. Here's what it looked like with one side crimped and drilled to it can connect to the belt:

Once both sides were attached I applied heat to the first layer of heatshrink. One note on this type of heatshrink I used, is has adhesive inside that melts allowing it to seal. It is very important to shrink it fully from one end to the other, otherwise bubbles can form because of the adhesive entrapping air from both sides (I learned about this the hard way, it was a pain). Then I used a second layer of 1/2" heatshrink. As in my previous cables, for now it is attached with M3 screws and acorn nuts, but once I am sure the fit is good I will likely replace with rivets (although it holds together very well, I don't feel theres any risk to taking the belt apart or coming apart on its own while it is being worn).

With the 2 layers of heatshrink, the new cable ends up being about 1/2mm thicker and noticeably stiffer than the original. With the length just right its actually very comfortable. Here is what it looks like attached to the belt:

After these modifications and with some careful bending of the shield and waistband the belt fits nearly perfect. The waistband is smaller than my old belt so I made it to fit higher on the narrower part of my waist, this might be more comfortable than the lower position. The biggest problem with this belt so far is urinating, it seems like its hard to get the member positioned right so it easily drains out, it can be messy and annoying to deal with.

I'd still like to find another Fun belt, but for now this works. Having a front shield I am finding is nice so I may consider getting a "Marvelous" from Neosteel (which is the Fun or Arch tube + shield, I don't see it currently listed on their new website but I assume they can still make it, it may just be represented by one of the checkboxes on the ordering page).

On my old account here (which I can no longer can access because everything was in a password safe I no longer can access, that's my fault) I described how I made my own cables and also tried solid steel rods in place of a cable, which might help if you are interested in doing a similar modification:

Here's the materials I used in case anyone is interested in replicating this, the adapter plates were cut out of 2mm stainless plate, I don't have a link for that but its a pretty common material.
