Hey all,
I currently have two Chinese Wolf Dog brass padlocks and they are inferior. Very easy to open with either a good twist or several tugs. I've searched around and found some very good looking locks, but they seem mostly for decoration and not very secure. Any thoughts?
Cheers.

If you want proper security then a good hardware shop and put vaseline in it to keep it working .

I think Abus makes the best padlocks. It is good quality and will last for long. And if you can, have a padlock and a numbered plastic lock if you have a kh, then he or she can see if you have cheated.

Actually,
The standard of care for padlocks is Tri-flow. It is PTFE (micro particles of Teflon) suspended in a liquid which evaporates.
40 years ago the standard was graphite. (Pencil leas particles) It was effective, but rubbed black everywhere.
Oil and vaseline lubricate, but attract dirt and grime which impedes tumbler movement.
Tri-flow is available at dedicated key shops.

Abus are good.
All MM custom cages are designed to fit a certain size of Abus lock, which they can also supply.

Master travel locks are widely available, that is what I use. Wolf Dog are garbage, my example exploded in its packaging. I'm not sure how a lock can manage to do that.

Just out of curiosity, what is the purpose of lubing the lock? Is it corrosion prevention or lubrication of the mechanism?

BiRedneck, lubing the lock serves both purposes. The sweat and humidity, along with regular showers will cause corrosion of the mechinism, so regular lubing is needed to keep them working, unless the KH prefers the lock NOT come off...

Even though Chastity play is mostly a mental confinement over a physical one, I too enjoy knowing that the lock is not going to come off unless I the key holder decides to remove it. And if my man tries to remove it himself, he will have to do so much damage to the lock and/or the device it will be obvious to what he has done. Here is a picture of all the different locks I use on my husbands CD; (he has an obsession with locks as you will see). Realize some are for short-term use to act as a weight as well as security (he has a hard time forgetting he's wearing his cage when I have one of the BIG locks attached -- Usually used only at home on weekends when he is cleaning around the house).

I think the cutest one is the little silver one that uses a handcuff key to open; however it isn't very secure since he can find a handcuff key pretty easily (lots of them in our "toy" box.

Our favorite lock is one he customized from a trailer hitch lock (shown on right with cage). I use the little pin through the end attached to a lock and a short chain to keep him "tied up" to various things around the house like the vacuum, ironing board or my bed post. I tell him it will keep him focused on what I want him to be doing).

Some of those will make sure your boat trailer won't get knicked! !

A lot of the bigger diy stores have a amazing range of locks both big and small.
I am quite a fan of diy stores for all my bondage needs :)

3 digit pad locks would take 10 minutes hard work to find the combination. :(

Think of normal small cable ties put a dab of your favourite nail varnish and keep the bottle safe . Most boys will not be able to match it given a choice of one ! However tranz girls will get it in a rack of a hundred! ! Trust me x

I like DIY stores as well. I always get funny looks as a female when I buy rope or chain or eye-bolts etc. I have been looking for a small luggage sized lock that has a 4-number combination. I like the idea of a combination lock when I'm gone that I could give him the number to if needed in an emergency. Right now I hide a key in the house but I worry he will find it if he gets really desperate. He showed me how fast he can figure out the combo to a 3-digit lock... You're right about 10 minutes or less.

One more pic.. His chastity cage with the BIG lock attached to it. I don't know how heavy it is but it definitely keeps him reminded that he's wearing it. I love the shinny look of it and how STRONG it looks. I don't know if he has a power tool big enough to cut that one off even if he had to. :)

Lustlock have some great padlocks and are fetish-friendly. Hypoallergenic options and ability to engrave your keyholders name and phone number. Buy Miss A a couple as a "thanksgiving" gift.

We keep an emergency key available by using a numbered plastic lock and attaching it to an AC vent in our bathroom.
