Ok I am on a Macintosh computer and every time I try to view one of the videos here all I get is a window with the Quick Time symbol and nothing happens. Anyone else have this? If so how can I view these should I feel the desire to? Thanks.

I use Windows and find the videos hit or miss. Some play, some play after a pause, and some never play. Dunno.

it would be nice to download some of these videos, but when i try i get the message "unable to record." does anyone have insight into this problem? thank Y/you!

Hi.

I looked into the source code of the Jukebox.
It seems those videos are only playable using the Windows Media Player ActiveX PlugIn for Internet Explorer.

I even tried to copy the media links into my default players (VLC, and Media Player Classic), that both can not render those streams. I bet its the same thing with Quick Time.

buggy

To the right hand side of each videos title is a floppy disk icon, which when clicked allows you to download the video to your computer.

I am not familiar with Mac but have you tried checking Mac's ability to play wmv files?

Try downloading the videos to your computer and opening it with your default video program and see if it works or not.

I'll do what i can to help

i searched and searched and there was no floppy disk icon... I also searched the code and there was no download link so, I think something has happened there...

The videos will play on a mac if you download them, they should play on VLC or quicktime (though quicktime requires the flip4mac plugin)

However to get them requires opening up the page source and copying the address of the movie, which might be beyond some people. If you want to try, open the jukebox popup, right click on the page and select view page source, find something that looks like this

Code:
<embed
src="http://www.chastitymansion.com/forum/local_stream.php?action=stream&linkid=14&catid=2"
width="320"
height="256"
autoplay="true"
loop="false"
controller="true"
kioskmode="true"
scale="ToFit"
pluginspage="http://www.apple.com/quicktime/"
>
</embed>

then copy the address in the src= line and paste in a browser... a file will then download.

Of course it would be lovely if admin could change media player options... please?

sounds like your trying to play the windows version. Macs and PC's have two completely different system structures. try converting it to an avi file. There are lots of fre .mov to .avi converters.

.wmv is just a video format, with the right code and player you can play it on osx, windows ,linux or whatever. Playing it through the browser is a little tougher, but there are ways!

I've seen the same problem with my Mac trying to view videos on this site - exactly as xcite2 wrote in original post. I have the latest flip4mac windows media player plug-in as well.

I have not seen any obvious link to download the file to my machine from my browsers on my mac (both firefox or safari). The video page looks different on my mac (either browser) than it does on a PC. I haven't looked at the page source, but that would be where'd I go next - probably using firefox.

From an alternate PC running ie and firefox I have been able to view "some" of the videos. (Yes, as candide mentioned it is hit or miss).

If I have any luck I'll send another reply to this thread explaining how to do it on a mac...

i also am on a MAC and have never been able to view any vids plus there is no disc icon for downloading a vid to my comp with ease from the vid page. if it takes more that 10 seconds to figure it out i lose insterest and move on and don't stress over it. just my twisted view on this.

All members should now be able to downlod videos and see the 'disk' icon. Hope this helps a little.
