I thought this section was for OFF TOPIC discussion about things away from Chastity and the fetish lifestyle...
I have been a collector of a few different things over the years, some I still collect others I no longer have the desire...
I started collecting comic books in the mid 1970s... DC Comics at first and gradually got into other publishers... Recently, I started looking at the comics and discovered that I don't really have the desire to collect anymore... Most are either scanned or getting scanned and I have other ways of reading them if I desire (thanks libraries!).
I discover the Carpenters around 1977 when I first heard their version of Calling Occupants (of Interplanetary Craft) on the radio... Ran down to local record store and had to have them order the album (Passages)... Went to the library and started investigating the Carpenters (Richard has always said the name was "Carpenters" not "The Carpenters" hence my using a small "t") even went as far as making a long-distance phone call to A&M Records! Mom wasn't happy when she got that bill but I was! Got a fan pack back then (wish I still had it)...
From the Carpenters I started getting into other Adult Contempoary/Easy Listening music and my sister turned me onto The Jackson 5 and Commodores and other Motown music she had in her home... My Brother-in-Law gave me a Bob Seger album that a car from a local radio station gave him when they were driving around... Other friends turned me on to Ac/DC, Led Zepplin, Kansas, Boston and oh so many more... Then someone gave me a Kenny Rogers album... I had discovered Country & Western music!!! Kenny, Dolly, Barbara, Alabama... I was getting quite the musical tastes if not collection...
Somewhere between 1985 and 1997 I discovered Christmas music... Not sure to the day why I love Christmas so much... It is weird for me. I started getting CDs like everyone else and replacing my albums... Especially the Carpenters and the Christmas music!
Then the worse thing happened in 2002 (or was it 2003): American Idol! Here were virtual unknowns making music for a chance at a recording contract! A whole new generation of music stars for me to delve into!!! Not only Idol but Star Search returned and soon they were other music competition shows on tv! Can You Duet! Nashville Star! Then I found out about the international shows (sometimes the internet is EVIL!) PopStars! Idol had international versions for other countries, And then there was X-Factor! Not real big in the US but the other countries were filled with them and again a plethora of music for me to check out! And lets not forget The Voice and The Sing-Off! Not to mention shows like the Got Talent series... They've had music stars all over those series!
My newest hobbie (and sometimes most frustrating) hobbie has been autographs... Started just going after music related autographs but have started to expand this year with actors, cartoonists, sports figures, and tryingto stay away from anything political (Michelle Obama might get a request though)... I like to get autographs from up-and-coming music acts I find on FB... My prized autograph is a girl-group picture that had 11 members and I found them around Christmas 2013... They sent me a picture and all 11 girls signed it! Will it ever be worth anything? Probably not. I don't even think the grop is still together. When I thanked them for sending the picture, they said I was the 1st person to request an autograph of them! That gave me all kinds of warm fuzzies inside! I'd never been the 1st one!
So there you have my hobbies from 1976 to 2019!
How about yours? Please don't post about your fetishes in this thread... There are enough areas on this site for those.
