This review is intended to provide some value to those considering a premium chastity device prior to such a large expenditure of money. In researching prior to my purchase I was somewhat disappointed to find so few reviews available in helping me make a decision. Thus I attempt to give something back to the community.
Background
In May of 2009 I had my first training session with my Lady. Prior to that session I had a vivid dream involving forced chastity, something I had never had any interest in before. The suddenness and intensity of the dream was surprising. Even more surprising was at that first session being told that I was to be locked up in chastity. From that point forward my view on chastity within a D/s and BDSM context took on new meaning. Having the lock secured on my then CB-2000 was one of the most powerful and submissive feelings I had ever felt.
Sadly, be it design or my own anatomy, the CB-2000 device did not work well for us. Quite quickly it was apparent that the device would be too painful to wear. After many weeks where my top time continuously locked up peaked at 18 hours -- a feat that was quite painful to achieve -- I sought help here on these very forums. Finding that the CB-2000 was a good starter chastity I immediately purchased the CB-6000. While an improvement and much more comfortable the same issues of tightness, poor fit, and chafing made long-term wear too painful to endure. At best was 24 hours of wearing and then several days of recovery after that.
During that time my Lady was very patient and thats when the topic of metal, custom-made chastity devices came up. Mistress Loris creations were wildly known and were our first stop. Of course, prior to such a purchase I sought out many opinions from folks.
Being unpierced there are only limited options available to me. Of them, the Lori #2 seemed the best compromise. Partly attractive because the penis was caged and able to be interacted with, a plus with my Lady who enjoyed CBT (did I mention she was a sadist?). Wanting to provide my Lady with everything that she desired, I contacted Mistress Lori for an order.
Ordering
My first question was one to leverage her experience as to the right device for me. With a smallish penis and high, tight scrotum, I was concerned that I would run into the same wearing issues that I had with the CB-series. Mistress Loris initial response wasnt particularly helpful; all of her devices would suffice, she proclaimed.
Research into the #2 yielded only two results, although I found two other users of the device. Two were very happy with their purchase, one frustrated (sizing issues), and another outright unhappy (fit, weight). So going in I thought I knew everything.
Loris website isnt particularly friendly to new visitors, including information on measuring. Based on comments from others, there was some concern regarding fit and the size of the anti-pullout pins used in the device. Although you cannot see them on Loris website, there are four small pins on the #2 to help capture the penis and prevent pullout.
Tape measure in hand I measured and re-measured. Heck, I even re-measured a third time. My undoing was being a bit shy about the pins and adding some slack room. Bad idea. When reviewers tell you to be precise we mean it. Dont fudge the numbers! Submitting the order and the payment I dutifully waited.
Unfortunately Lori doesnt give you any feedback as to creation time or details as to when to expect your device. In a few weeks I had a business trip that would take me out of town and concerned that no one would be home to sign for a package, I dropped Mistress Lori a line to let her know.
Its worth mentioning that I had already been told by folks that dealing with Lori can be a trying experience. She doesnt particularly seem to like working with males. Forewarned I was exceedingly polite, thanked her at every opportunity, etc. So I was a bit surprised with the terse reply (but speedy!) that I received, stating that her devices are hand crafted and take weeks. Short version: dont call us, well call you.
And then another month passed.
No updates forthcoming and certainly no desire on my end to inquire as to when the device may be ready. It was quite a surprise when one Friday morning a package did show up, my #2 inside it.
Eagerly pulling it out I could hardly wait to put it on. The first thing I noticed was that it was extremely heavy! And solid. Well, thats to be expected with a metal device. The base ring was comfortable and easily put on. Feeding the penis into the cage was simple enough but it was immediately obvious that the cage was too large. There was literally 1/8 of an inch clearance around the inside of the cage, allowing the penis to flop casually in (or just as easily, out). The cage was also extremely long, which was a surprise as my length measurement was (ahem) quite small. Getting an erection was somewhat amusing, watching the penis grow to fill the cage then press up against the bars, squirting out like some overripe tomato.
Unfortunately pulling the penis out was casually easy. Even worse, the device literally fell off after a few minutes, the gap between the base ring and cage a massive 1 wide! Upon further inspection I also noted that the #2 only had two pins, not four.
I cleaned and packaged up the device to send back and composed the e-mail to Mistress Lori. I dreaded that part.
Take Two For #2
Surprisingly the response (again, quick!) was more friendly than I anticipated. The device had three problems, one of which was clearly mine. First, the interior measurement of the cage was over 1/8 of an inch too large. That was entirely my fault and a mis-measurement. The second issue was the ring/cage gap. At 1 wide that was nearly double what my balls could escape through. Using a CB-6000 and setting it properly, I cannot escape from a gap smaller than 9/16. Third, the missing pins.
Mistress Lori indicated for me to send the device back. I didnt press for details. From others I have heard there is a fee for resizing but in my case the entire device had to be remade. Would I be charged again? Not wanting to tempt fate I decided to let Mistress Lori handle matters and stay out of her hair.
Six weeks later...
Yes, thats right. Nothing heard for over six weeks. No updates and no word as to whether I would be charged. Then, suddenly, a package arrived with my #2. I did note in the intervening time that my old #2 appeared on Loris In Stock page, selling at the full price that I paid for. So apparently returns are simply sold as new to customers.
The device was new in some ways -- smaller cage, tighter fit, four pins -- and the same in others -- heavy, non-usable.
While this device secured the penis much better it was still possible to pullout. The four pins -- two on the lower portion of the cage, two on the upper portion of the ring -- seem to fill no useful purpose. They dont meaningfully hinder pullout in anyway (for me). In fact the two pins on the ring simply hurt when you have an erection, pressing up against the stiff flesh.
The original unit fit snugly on the ring and secured well. The new one was a poor fit. Holding it up to the light I could clearly see that the entire cage is supported on one leverage point. The locking screw barely taps in, perhaps as little at 1/8 of an inch. This means, metal or not, any good amount of weight will likely snap the cage off at the screw.
Worse of all was that the ring/cage gap was still a gulf of over 7/8. Mistress Lori must be used to making devices for porn stars, because my balls are considerably smaller than 7/8!
Twelve weeks into the process and $342 later I had a very expensive paperweight.
The #2 Design
Its a sturdy device, no doubt. Made of stainless steel, the #2 is quite comfortable to wear for short periods. After a longer period the weight does become more and more of an issue. The base ring has a thickness of 3/16 and a width of 7/16 -- nearly 1/2! Why the ring is so large I cannot say. Certainly it could be much smaller, reducing the weight of the device.
The cage fits over a screw hole on top of the ring, secured by a keyed screw (more on that later). Tightened down the cage does not move; there is no play. On one hand it makes the device sturdy but the lack of play causes some issues. The penis and testicles tend to move and shift around a bit and the #2 is unforgiving in that respect. This sometimes causes pinching of the skin. For example, a motorcycle ride on the #2 as a passenger (sliding back and forth) was less than pleasant with the device on.
The cage bulb seems overly large. It also sticks out a noticeable amount. For some folks this means no tight pants. Even with my smallish size, the #2 sticks out a good 2 1/2 from my body.
From a comfort perspective the #2 is better than the CB-series and their plastic rings. The base ring is tight and snug. The cage does not press down or irritate the testicles, likely due to the fact that the cage hangs out more than down. This also is partly why the ring/cage gap is so large.
Security
Like the CB-series and other chastity devices for the unpierced, the #2 is a trapped ball design. That is the ring goes around your penis and scrotum, the balls hanging through. The penis goes in the device and the cage secures to the ring, creating a gap that the balls hang through. The gap (in theory) is large enough to allow blood flow and comfort yet too small for the balls to pull back through. Thus the device is secured on.
Mistress Loris devices are unique in that she offers an integrated lock option. In short this is a specialized screw design that locks the cage onto the base ring. The head of the screw is unique (to my knowledge) and near-impossible to replicate. Its unlike anything Ive seen before; its no torx screw or the like. Plus the integrated screw keeps the form factor of the #2 small, no dangling luggage lock like on other chastity devices. It is truly ingenious!

Even the most secure device is worthless if you can pullout. Pullout, as the name implies, is the ability to simply pull the penis out of the device -- although it may still be attached via the balls -- and manipulate said penis (to orgasm). On the #2 this is easily done. The four pins inside the device do little to deter pullout. After pullout putting the penis back in is not entirely impossible, although the pins do make that a little difficult.
Stimulating the penis inside the #2 is possible, although doubtful you could obtain orgasm. One interesting design of the #2 is that the head of the penis is relatively open for use. For example, one could insert a urethral sound into the penis quite easily while wearing the #2. I was able to urinate standing up withe the #2.
Build Quality
My first #2 was a rather unattractive, dull metallic color. My second is much better, buffed to a stainless shine. As I said the device is quite solid; perhaps overly built too thick.
My first #2 had a very snug fit of cage to ring but my second is considerably worse. The cage hinges on one point and the locking screw does not screw in with much depth. While I have not tried to, with a little effort it should be easy to snap the screw in half as all the weight on the cage is carried by the screw. My disappointment in the build quality is that I noticed this poor fitting within a minute of opening the device. Certainly by spending an extra few minutes this could have been corrected during its creation.

Customer Service
I will try not to belabor this point but as others have noted, opinions on Mistress Loris customer service tend to be polarizing. I am no exception. While I took great pains to be respectful and have a smooth ordering experience it was anything but.
When I enquired as to the build time I was tersely responded to. I was made to feel as an annoyance, not a valued customer. I never received any updates as to the progress of the device. In fact, my second #2 showed up before I received an e-mail from Lori indicating it had shipped!
The website is not very good, details are hard to find and even the product page isnt entirely clear as to what picture goes with what product. Theres only one picture of any device and few details as to how it works, special sizing considerations, etc. The entire process feels slapdash and unprofessional.
The lack of any feedback is particularly frustrating, as is the order in which devices are built, even corrections.
Intangibles
All this aside, its all forgivable if the device suits your needs. Sadly, it does not. Several hundred dollars later and over 12 weeks I still do not have a functioning chastity device. Ive little desire to contact Mistress Lori to resolve because of the customer service issues noted above, nor do I have any great confidence that the third try will fix the issue. Worse of all this became a point of contention with my Lady and a source of sadness and frustration with her, having waited so long for a non-functioning device.
Conclusion
You hear the good and the bad with Mistress Lori and it saddens me that mine is one of the bad. The frustrating thing is that many of these problems are fixable. The website could easily be upgraded to be easier to use and more professional. The customer service could easily be solved by treating customer inquiries as serious interactions rather than annoyances. Status updates or estimated build times would defer some anxiety over ordering. The first-in, first-out ordering process needs to be looked at; returning a device to have it fixed because of an error on Loris end should put you at the front of the queue, not the back of it.
All this said, I cannot recommend a Lori #2 device. For a lucky few it may work but at the very least plan on 12 weeks and two sizings to get one that works. Even then it will be large, heavy, and something of a crapshoot as to the quality. Buyer beware.
