We received the PA-5000 on 02-09-2010 and it was fitted shortly after using the largest of the three pa pins supplied and the best method of putting the tube on the penis was the stocking trick as we had orderd the 1" tube for a tight fit.
The reason for the tight fit was to prevent the tube being able to move back and forward to reach orgasm as I am a real trier and we had read in other posts that this might be possible.
So with the tighter fit when I grow there is no possible movment of the tube on the penis shaft and with the sensitive under side of the penis coverd I find it impossible to masterbate and that seems to keep my key holder happy.
I was locked from 02-09-2010 till the morning of 02-13-2010 when I was released so the locking pin could be changed to the middle size pin as the larger size was catching on my underpants when I was getting my penis out to use the bathroom.
I was then allowed a release and locked again right away and I have to say that there has not been any discomfort so far.
I find it very easy to use the bathroom and keep clean and odour free.
My key holder has no time table for release so I am locked 24/7 unless for her pleasure or a problem arises with the PA-5000.
If there are any problems I wll post them.

Here are some answers to your questions akm3, The size of my PA is currently 6mm I am not sure what gauge this is but it is larger than the pin size of the PA-5000 so there was no problems inserting the pin.
When I was first pierced it was 2mm and was increaced by 1mm at various intervals over a period of 4 years.
I do intend on increasing it up to 10mm by the end of this year so even though the PA5000 is proving sucessful I will end up having issues with the pins supplied and possibly get one made to size.
I find the PA5000 very comfortable to wear this is now in to the eighth day with only one break as mentioned in my original post and according to my key holders mood it my be on for some time.
For me there is no pain concerning the pin no pinching pulling or swelling I even forget I am wearing it and I know it sounds like a cliche but it is true.
P.S. I hope my key holder dose not read this.

So, I'm seeing some common threads among those who DO work well with the PA-5000 and those who don't.

Folks like Steph who already had a large, completely healed piercing seem to do FANTASTIC with the PA-5000. His piercing was already larger than the hooks, A 4 gauge piercing = 5mm and he is already at 6mm. The "5" gauge hooks that came with the original PA-5000 are already smaller than 5.

So hypothesis: Those with long term, large mm piercings do great, those who stretch up or get piercings just to use the PA-5000 don't do so well.

Can anyone add data that supports or denies this? My data supports it. It seems the only thing we can do is slow way down, stretch up slowly, give a ton of time to heal, and THEN try the PA-5000. Also, people using hooks smaller gauge then their actual piercing seem to do better, probably because the hooks aren't stretching the piercing further when you add the PA-5000 pulling on the piercing.
So, someone with a 6ga stretched and healed piercing might do better with the 8ga hooks?

If that's the rule, I'm one of the exceptions then. I have no issues with either the 1-1/8" tube or the medium hook. I stretched up to 4ga just for the express purpose of wearing the PA-5000 or possibly a Lori's.

To test for the right size before buying it, I used a 1-1/4" tube I had around, cut it to the approximate shape and length of the PA-5000, sand it, and wear that for several hours, trying various real-world situations (getting hard, peeing, inside of clothing, etc..). For me, the 1-1/4" was just a tiny bit too large and allowed too much movement, so I went with the 1-1/8". I'm wondering of others aren't having problems due to the size of the tube being either too large or small. I could see where too large might cause the tube to slip and move around and pull on the piercing. I could also see where too small might cause problems with pulling on the piercing during partial erections.

One thing I also do is pull all the skin back out of the tube. I'm cut, but there's still obviously some loose skin there. While I don't pull it back tightly, there's not really much spare skin left under the tube.

OK, hypothesis #2: Those who stretch larger than the pin they are wearing do better in the PA-5000. e.g. you stretched to 4ga and are wearing a ~5ga pin and it works. Original Poster already had a larger piercing than the pin size, you both did great.

So, people already at 4ga do good? People 'at' 8ga trying to wear the new 8ga pins do poorly.

Hows that sound?

When I first got my PA 5000 my peircing was an 8 guage. The advertisement back then was wrong as the pin was larger than that as you all know. I had to stretch out to that guage wich took me a week or so but it was painful and pushed. I wanted to try the device to badly you see. Anyhow, it did stress the peircing at first I remember but seems like a couple of weeks was all that was needed with brief intermissions to get everything used to it and comfy. My biggest complaint is the air veins letting skin and part of the head out. They get rubbed constantly. I need some of those ergowear undies perhaps. Overall though it is mostly good especially for the price and gives a person a good notion of what needs they may have if thinking of going steel.
 
I like the thoughts going on here about gauges and the relevance to irritation.

I'm going to stretch up to 5mm, and I'm going to be comfortable with a 5mm smooth stainless steel shaft before I try switching to plastic. Perhaps in the rush, some people aren't waiting long enough for their piercings to heal or stretch before wanting to get into the PA-5k.

I know I'm fucking desperate to be wearing it, but I know it's still months away, and it may well be that the waiting is as hard as the chastity when it comes!
 
I wish that I could give more answers to the people having problems with the pa-5000, I find that this device is the most comfortable I have ever used. So here is my take on fit and use- I purchased the smallest tube even though it is a tight fit when soft and I have to use the stocking trick to put it on, I use no powder or lube ever and I think they may cause hygene issues and odour problems. Also before starting to use the pa-5000 my pa was stretched to 6mm and the pins slide in and out with ease.
The reason for the small tube is that in my opinion when the tube is in place it does not move and I still find it easy to keep clean.
I have worn it for 10 days in the past with no problems except frustration and at this time I am 4 days in to at least a 4 week lock up and I cant say that discomfort is going to is going to be an issue but if any thing crops up I will let you know.
This could be a real case of be careful what you wish for.
 
I have been locked since 5th March and now it is the 16th and I would have to say that there does not seem to be any major issues with the pa-5000. Sure I get a bit of pain with erection difficulties in the mornings but it just serves to remind me of the position I am in and when I moan about having had enough my KH tells me to get over my self as I still have over two weeks to go minimum. The only slight problem I have had has been a bit of reddness and dry skin around my pa hole and Icured it with an antiseptic barrier cream quite easily without removing the pa-5000.
My KH seems to be getting more confident at my ability to wear the pa-5000 without the need to remove it for any reason and when we were away last weekend I was told she could see no reason to take the key with her.
Overall my KH is quite pleased with the pa-5000 as she gets all the pleasure she needs and deserves and I am in the position I deserve to be in.
 
Ah well. I guess I might give pa5k another try now that i have given time for piercing to stretch. Also, I found good cream to lube the hook.
I have been wearing 5mm ring since giving up pa5k, hoping that some day I could wear it successfully.

edit: woke up bloody, took off pa5k.
 
What cream did you find to lube the hook?

I heard a suggestion of a silicone based lubricant, which actually works pretty well for me, but I'm still not above 1 day wear yet so better is always good.

Also, Steph17 what is the antiseptic barrier cream you are using? Sounds like just generally a good idea.
 
Lube

I use the same lubricant to locks as I use for my guns.

Whops. Misread.

"60% grease" skin care stuff, decubal is the brand name. Also "bepanthene" if places are irritated.
 
To answer your question akm3 the cream that I have used is called Sudo cream and it is an anticeptic healing cream but I would have to add that I have only used the cream twice to relieve irritation caused by attemted erections during hot play sessions with my KH and the cream is in no way for lubrication.
This the fourteenth day of what I have been told is a four week lockup period and I dont seem to have any issues with pain or discomfort the only real problem is the serious frustation caused by no orgasm while providing them for my KH. The head of my penis seems to swell too the size of a golf ball during these sessions but I suffer no pain.
I have tried several times to beat the pa5000 and reach orgasm but have never come close. I find that for me the sensitive parts of the penis eg-behind the head on the underside are well protected and I get no sensation and at times I have found myself humping air but achieving nothing, much to the amusement of my KH.
 
I have a PA5000, and my piercing is slightly larger than the pins supplied, so no problem there. however, I do find I need to lubricate the pin as it gets 'sticky'. Otherwise, it's the most comfortable device I have used (CB2000, 3000, Curve and a 'seed-pod' from Mr. Fantasy). I have the middle-sized tube, which I find a little uncomfortable with erections as everything squeezes out of the 'air-slats'. I'm only average size. Biggest problem and disappointment is that I can masturbate to orgasm with it on (I'm very determined...) as I have a 'jello-type mansturbator' tube that, with lots of lube, fits nicely over everything. Boy does my dick swell up afterwards though! My girlfriend is a bit more than sadistic, and regularly gives me a dose of Kamagra/Viagra - a five-hour erection in this without release is something else...
