Have you considered switching to metal (as per indicated here)? If I may recommend, it may be a practical move. You don't have to go for an expensive one right away, just some cheap knockoff.

I have attempted this and although i loved the feeling. I kept pinching pretty badly and switched back to v3 knockoff

I thought so but it was the top locking mechanism that seemed to not be flush and caused a lot of pinching and certain pinch can stop you dead in your tracks

I had the plastic version of no.1 which i found very comfortable so i thought id give it a try. No.2 is great but skin poking thorough the bars can be a pain in the ass.

Welcome. After a year, it's time to switch to a nice small metal device that you can keep clean and wear for a week at a time. Lots of people here to help you.
