To lube, or not to lube... That is the question.

In my quest to find a long-term wear device, I have gone as long as 8-nights straight before the ring-burn made me take the cage off. I am on cheap Chinese device number four, and getting it dialed-in. I will order a custom device, once I am sure of the design and the fit. I have found a great long-lasting lotion, but I wonder if I will have to "grease-up" every day, after my shower? If the ring size and cage fit is right, do you ever get to the point where you can just towel dry and go?

I think lotion weakens the skin, traps bacteria, and allows the device to slide during morning wood, causing painful flagpoling.

Not sure if this helps. I nearly always go dry. On the rare occasions I feel like I might be getting irritation (usually related to hair removal) I use Gold Bond Medicated Lotion with Aloe. It works like a charm.

This used to happen more frequently, now only once in awhile: if I have any burning sensation when I wake up in the morning it isn't irritation. It's pressure on my scrotum and testicles from my penis trying to get hard. Once I'm up and about for 30 minutes or so it's gone.
