Giving the Lady members some space

I dont have a problem with that. I think it should be balanced by a Keys-held section for those of us locked to post in exclusively.

Not to replace 'The Tower', but both as sub-sections within it. I think it would have to be largely self-policing and we would have to show worlds of self-restraint.

I don't see any way to separate out male key-holders though. Running it on the basis of gender alone is dangerous ground as far as I can see.
This raises another issue - some that are locked are also keyholders. Not many but some. I presume they would have to be admitted to both groups dependant on the slant of their contribution at the time. I think that would be fair enough.

So - in short, I think it could work, but not on the basis of gender alone.

Keyholder/held status yes. Gender no.

 

Things CAN change to the better, but sometimes need some incentives or perhaps even some regulations....
I have been cocky more than once over the fact that avatars in the shape of dickheads has been on decline for a while now, all for the benefit of newcomer ladies/ wives in here... to not scare the more vanilla ones off...
Incentives do work....

From what I hear - from my very own wife - is that "rude and disgustingly horny subby males" - makes it almost impossible to use the chat function in here. But besides that she has not much to report about the "Mix zone" where males and leading ladies engage in conversations here on CM threads.
So do we need regulations in the threads - so females can engage in conversations ( or cat fights - - ( truly sorry . could not help it. ) - or should we not just all - including us males - lent a helping hand and educate one another? And will it be enough if more well behaved males actively took part in the sanitary state of CM threads, for the benefit of females in here? Could be

I am not saying no to regulations - I am for one a strong agitator for more strict regulation of soliciting and exploitation in here, - and I am not saying that regulations in order to make some safe haven for female conversation could not be a solution, but I am saying that perhaps we could start out by simple encourage females to flag their conversations with recommendations - saying that they in this or that particular thread would like to have it - female only.

We are more than a few members in here that would respect and even actively guard this desire - by being helpful in "gently correcting" other males that did not seem to honor this desire by the female thread holder....

Together we are stronger....

P.S. And My wife would surely like to add, that just because your are female that has chat open, males in here should behave, and not start pushing buttons in the chat. Calm down, take a cold shower, and be sensible!

 

The problem with all of this, is blocking content away from people. The Mansion is free, and open to everyone. Now suddenly we're going to put up walls, and say "Hey you can't post here, because you're not x or y", that just doesn't feel right.


Or limiting to certain conditions. Age, sex, role - All of them would cause complications somehow. Then you will have people trying whatever way they can to get into these groups for whatever stupid reason etc etc.

 

Or simply setting up duplicate identities.

 

All valid points. My initial post on KH Thoughts was, in a nut shell, a search for the female mindset/ideas for my wife to read/ view. We are new, and we know there are books, etc (most sound/readlike 80% fantasy) so she was looking for opinions/experiences from seasoned KH's. She is not ready to post or anything yet. .....And then the Restricted Thread storm blew up. I may be naive here, but isn't this whole lifestyle based on the honor system at its core? No bullets or daggers please, this was just a question.

 

I think there is value in having role specific sections, in the same way as in the greater world there is value in having protected spaces for those more vulnerable.

I really cannot imagine it would be workable currently though. It would be a train wreck in no time, which is a great shame I think.

 

I have come to the conclusion that this could never ever be resolved in a forum such as this.
This type of discussion could only work when people can talk and listen to each other.
And for the record I disagree with @Administrator, things are only complicated when they are made complicated.
And while this has been going on I have been secretly chatting with a member and NO one else can see what has been
said......Oh Secrets! we cant have Secrets.

I have to agree with you Verity, both that it would be desirable and that it would be unworkable, which is a real shame as it's only going to be unworkable because of the members themselves.

 

I totally agree with you in this, it is the members that are THE problem NOT the idea.

Once upon a time there was a conspiracy theory that buried somewhere in the Mansion was a secret den where Mistresses used to sup on champagne and giggle and gossip about private matters in a very supportive girl-to-girl manner.

Maybe it is there, maybe it always was there and no-one ever noticed the secret meetings and everyone lived happily ever after.

There already is and it's called private Mails. it's the only way to avoid getting your postings pounced on bludgeoned and railroaded by sausage wavers. ;-)

 

In the old days we couldn't have multiple way conversations in private messages though.
