Was that self administered punishment or had you been a naughty? At least the insert was removable. I am thinking of getting a urethral insert next year when I get my custom device made. That is metal but I have read that two to three days is the max you can wear them, so I will have to get one that is removable like yours.
Is it very easy to pull out from the back on this device ? and once in place can you remove the but yourself ie its not locked in ? A simple design cgange would have made it impossible

It is quite tight to back out of...and yes with the insert not possible. If the knob bit (of the insert!!) was chopped off and screwed in to the cage from the inside. It would be very difficult to escape from, add a drop of locktite and you would never get enough grip to remove it when wearing it. Self imposed today....
Never mind the locktite add to it the design ingenuity of a product that will release soon from myself, that now has more potential than I ever envisaged I will be able to offer a seriously secure design for those wanting that product!! Thanks sillymaid

The cage I have with an insert can't be removed once locked on. Goes in from outside with a set screw holding it still, once in it curves downward and sits just behind the base ring. So locked in the base ring lockes it in so even if you loosen the set screw you can't pull it out. Guess you could turn. It upside down and pull it out, but not sure insides can turn that much
As suggested, there are many who have gone longer than two or three days without any problems and have been very comfortable to the extent of forgetting that the insert is present. It's all down to the product design and material quality. Surgical quality steel or titanium alloy inserts can be present for longer periods than two or three days and if well made like the Steelworxx products and should cause no problems as long as it is nice and clean when going in. Looking at this picture the plastic tube goes quite a bit beyond the base ring and is more like a catheter and it is not clear what the inside end is like. It does look very interesting nonetheless.
Thank you @maid_carrie it hadn't occurred to me that the picture was of a plastic catheter rather than a steel insert. I would rather get a permanent insert as it would just be that extra little bit of security. Not because I need it, I am motivated not to escape, but just because of the extra impact to the mind game we play with wearing a device.
Agreed about the added security of a steel insert ensuring there is no chance of escape @Jasmic68, but I don't understand the desire many seem to have of escaping. Seems to me some are more into escapology than chastity - always looking to defeat the device. Each to their own I suppose
Oh, I have absolutely no desire to escape whatsoever! I love being locked up. I too don't understand people who complain that the device is too easy to escape. The device is just a physical symbol of my commitment, if I did not have that commitment then why wear the device? I think it is just the level of security that appeals to me. I would love feeling the extra security that a piercing locking device would give as it would make ME feel more secure (capitals for emphasis, not because I am shouting) I cannot say I understand the psychology behind the mind games that make up the male chastity lifestyle, I would certainly struggle to explain to my friends why going without orgasms can be fun! I just know that when I am wearing my device I feel better and more secure in my own ability to be as good a husband as I can be. The piercing would reinforce that.
The difference between materials is negligible, its hardly escapology if you can simply withdraw from the rear in a about 2 seconds, you may as well be naked and on a trust basis. I would think that most (shout if im wrong !!) that went down this life style thought that once locked, you really were LOCKED up !! Only proper way of doing this is a PA piercing at the least, looking forward to releasing my product on the world any day now !!!
I don't presume to speak for everyone but I believe we like to imagine we are being made to do something with no choice in the matter or options. The more 'secure' the device, the more realistic. Of course we all know none are fool proof. Even extreme devices can be removed given enough time and effort.
My thoughts exactly, very well put DarkKnight.. my very soon to be released device will be very secure if you have a PA!! having never had a second career as a burglar and pondering security, just what does it take to pick a lock like you would find on for example a Steelworx device ? Obviously you can drill it out but I guess by then you've been found out haha
I admit the concept look interesting, but that insert looks HUGE! If it was me I'd have real trouble walking around with that inside me. Is that a standard size or do they make them smaller diameters?
Think they are 6mm. Look big cos I have a small willy. The long one does not act as a catheter, does not go deep enough. Having said that you do loose the sensation of weeing. Feels weird to stop and start but not really feel it. Another little pleasure takn away. The tubes have metal inserts each end. I've more photos on fetlife, same name there.
Well for me it not so much about wanting to defeat the device it was that I wanted to find a device I could not defeat without damaging it. When I'm locked I want the headfuck of being unable to get out until I am let out by my KH because she wants to. I have found a couple of ways and I'm very happy with the one I'm using.
