Is anyone else concerned that this site is rapidly becoming another place that people post copyrighted material Originally it was the odd model picture that the internet has spread around, then it was lots of them with captions on, today it is graphic novels. 1. Do people care that they are stealing someone else's livelihood? 2. Do people care that copyright infringement is one of the things that brings a site down? I'm not sure of the site owners opinions on these posts, but I'd hate to see the rest of the value of this site wiped out by take down notices and legal letters over its users thoughtlessness.
There is the option to report posts, and it is in the "Terms and Rules" (link at the very bottom of every page) that copyright infringements are forbidden, so I'm sure that @L-u-c-y wants us to stay legal. Have you actually reported any that you know to be copyrighted? What happened?
Any content I post is my own original work to which I hold the rights. I'd encourage everyone not to post the work of others without permission - while I write for fun many do so for a living.
I reported a few but there isn't a good way to bulk report the 20+ cartoons today They all say copyrighted work at the bottom
Is there such a thing as original material on the internet? I am asking partly in jest. Of course we should honor the original rights of original content. Let's be careful. But these days, darn near everything was found--then distributed--on the public domain. Just TRY to find original chastity material that wasn't regurgitated from somewhere else. Heck, I even wrote some under a pseudonym only to watch it being cited as scientific work. THAT I find amusing. I DO try to write truthful things though.....
If all questionably posted material was removed from the internet it would pretty much collapse overnight. Of course, it would run much faster since millions upon millions of sites would vanish. I am not advocating this, but let's be realistic, something like this cannot be regulated t scale.
@L-u-c-y really needs to have a copyright infringement provision on this site with a specific process on how to notice the site if someone sees their copyright protected material on here and wants it taken down. The US DMCA (under the Copyright Act), gives the site and site owner safe harbor if they 1) have a policy (basically available to crib from any number of sites; 2) take down infringements in a timely manner upon notice; and 3) have a registered agent registered with the US Copyright Office. You have to do all 3 and if you do, she will be immune from liability for copyright infringement carried out by people on this site. At the moment, I don't see that has happened, so there is a risk. It's easier to comply with those 3 rules than it is to police all of the postings.
If Tumblr and Bdsmlr had to ban captioned pictures, they would probably collapse. I have been contacted several times by people who claimed to have rights to some of the pictures I've used. I have received permission by some and have been denied by others. For those, I remove them. That said, there's a difference between using a picture, and using a book. If the book is still in print, then digital bootlegs are stealing from the author.
The person you are speaking about posted some images from a graphic novel, not the whole thing, and he wasn't passing it off as his own work. I don't think it affected anyone's livelihood, in fact it might have got them more customers.
I just checked, when you upload a photo the following message appears... 1. Do not violate copyright 2. Do not upload photos not related to your own chastity lifestyle experience. 3. Do not use CM as Cloud storage. Failure to comply will lead to deletion of photos. This is a case of damned if we do and damned if we don't. People cry censorship all the time. For example, if someone asks for their profile to be deleted all their posts will also be deleted, along with any comments on that post, then other people assume some mysterious censorship is going on.
@L-u-c-y I'm not sure if this is related but all my photos have gone now including my profile. Pretty sure they were all of me, can you help?
You've never had any photos. A log is kept of all changes to all profiles and yours hasn't had any changes since the day you created it.
@L-u-c-y Thanks, I may have 2 accounts and just discovered this is logged in with the one I don't use. Got to love browser history...... Thank you
