Perhaps there seems to be a link between the various sexual deviations because (I think) nobody has just one. With a large enough population, there's bound to be innumerable apparent correlations but I believe it has more to do with each individual having several that overlap with many random groups while not necessarily being firmly in most of them.

One guy into chastity and D/s will overlap with some guy into pain and chastity, and with another guy into femdom and chastity.

It's no different than me liking playing music and being caged overlapping with John Doe who likes to read books and being caged, and also overlapping with Jimmy Doe who self-locks his cage but also beats his wife.

Jimmy may not play any musical instruments while I play over a dozen. John likes sci-fi books and Jimmy likes People magazine.

These other connections are all incidental to chastity. None of them demonstrate that chaisty makes you a musician, reader, or wife beater. The only thing they show is that different people, who like other stuff, have one thing in common.

Chastity devices are a tool that neutralise the penis, so you have several very different clusters of chastity users who have that one thing in common.

Maybe people drawn to one path sometimes tell themselves they are actually on a different more acceptable path, and that bubble gets burst by experience?

Those incidental connections amomg deviancies may appear at a high ratio on CM (and porn in general) because of the safe anonymity of the Interwebs. Pure vanilla likely will not explore chastity or porn, and certainly not post videos of themselves on OnlyFans or consider joining CM.

The types of folks who do post have a predisposition to embracing their "Non-vanillaism" (read: multiple deviancies). This provides more opportunities for random overlapping.

Using porn as a proxy for popularity, I think it's a function of search engine technology that makes "straight guy in chastity gets lovingly pegged by his wife" much harder to find than "guy in chastity gets pegged."

As with all database queries, the more criteria applied, the fewer the results. The second example has more opportunities to overlap with non-straight guys, rough pegging, and non-married partners.

In my own case, each practice makes the other better so it’s not a random intersection of the two. Maybe for others, they are different interests on a list. I was interested in crossdressing/gender play much earlier and chastity came along later. For others, I think they got into submission and chastity first. There is angst (and excitement) for some that chastity will lead to other things. It was not my first interest.

I think I've always been fascinated by women's clothes, whoever is wearing them. Just like the fabrics and feel of them and how sexy many can be. When I dress I tend to get excited and want to play with myself, which is great but short lived. So being in chastity when dressing helps prolong the experience. When I don't dress I still like being in chastity, but in a way it makes be feel feminine. Then I like to dress up more.
So one thing tends to lead to the other in my case. Chasity and crossdressing go together more or less. But everyone's different and I am sure there are people at opposite ends of the spectrum (chastity only or dressing only).

I don't think there's any strong correlation, I just think cross-dressers are more nosy about their kink, which makes it seem more common. Unless a site specifically bans discussion of cross-dressing, any discussion of chastity will have someone start talking about their frilly panties. I mean, look at this thread itself - i a forum titled "Chastity without fermentation an crossdressing" someone posts about cross dressing.

I've been at this a long time and, if I had to really boil it down, there's two reasons a man might find his dick locked in a cage:

1) Power Exchange: the other partner has control over the man in chastity. This is where it all started.

2) Humiliation/Feminization: an embodiment of insecurities and/or the desire to be more feminine.

I feel like most of the people on forums gravitate on the second point and are unwilling to delve into the first point. That's just my observation; personally anything fem is instant "red light" for me.
 
I like the buzz of a high libido for its own sake and trying to channel it into different areas - yeah sometimes that energy ends up in feminine pursuits but not always. I think the control appeals to my wife when she’s in the mood for it. I agree it can be hard to accept true control - truly giving up what you want.

That seems like a logical conclusion - I would generally assume that a typical caged male is NOT a crossdresser...
Just as I would estimate many crossdressers enjoy chastity play (or have at least experimented with it).

For me the kinks are intertwined. It's undeniable that they play off each other exponentially.
