does any one have experience wearing a cage while working in a kitchen? i normally have to sit to pee when i wear my cage and it feels like it takes to long to wear it at work for that reason. i have been taking my cage off 5-10 minutes before i leave for work and i put it back on as soon as im home. the first time i wore my cage to work it pinched me alot. any advice is definitely welcome because i would prefer to keep it on at all times. thanks

I work on a construction site, not in the kitchen, but I can tell you something. In my case, I had to start with wearing it permanently 24/7, that's what my wife decided and I agreed to, if you take the cage off before work and put it on after, I think it's a form of fun, not permanent cleanliness. In my case, it wouldn't be possible because temptation would probably win. After that, life in my relationship would go back to vanilla. The beginnings of wearing it 24/7 were difficult. It's no wonder you wear something that restricts you, but you'll get used to it over time. I had to choose a cage in which I can pee standing up, because there's not always a toilet where I work.

I wear my cage to work and on three-hour bike rides, and while doing every sporting activity I do. I take it off only when I must, according to my personal ethical rules about polite conduct around medical and security professionals. Yes, peeing around other people presents challenges, but that is a small price to pay for the safety and assurance that 24x7x52 lock-down provides. I can't put myself in your position, but in my position I was able to find a way.

Oh: there are cages, and then there are cages you can wear 24x7x52. Yes, they cost real money.

Peace!

I wear mine 24/7 and do heavy building work occasionally, mixing concrete moving blocks etc so a lot of bending, i find the way to avoid "pinching" is a well fit cage and plenty of decent lubrication then as i bend it moves with my body.

I dont have the luxury of removing the cage so it has be to comfortable once fit.

I have an active job. Bending, on and off a forklift all day, loading trucks etc. It's all about the cage and how well it fits. Sitting to pee doesn't really add that much time providing a stall is available. Being shaved and a little lotion in mornings helps avoid any pinching or discomfort.

thank you everyone! ive had my cage on since getting home from work yesterday and im not taking it off again until someone takes it off of me. im serious about wearing it permanently but still kind of new to it. hopefully ill find a key holder soon. but until then ill have this site to keep me honest!

I agree with almost everything you said. Except, I have not ever been able to find a cage that I can wear while cycling. I’m an avid cyclist, former racer. I have tried a number of cages and favor my custom Mature Metal jailbird. But, in an aero position on my custom fit bike, just too uncomfortable. This is a problem for me because I REALLY don’t like the idea of removing the cage for hours at a time up to 5 days a week . Can you share what cage you use, or advice about how you have accomplished long rides while locked. I can do every other sporting activity I want but this, my favorite activity, has me stumped.

Well, dang, what a bummer. We’re all so different and I fear I can’t help, but I hope something I say does, at least a little!

I’m also a serious roadie, logging about 7K miles a year. I definitely know how to get aero on a bike.

My jailbird was iffy on a bike, and I abraded myself a few times and dealt with really bad scrotal burn all the time. Now I have a custom BAWR with a 57mm base ring and other changes and I’m much more comfortable. Yes, my balls and root are huge, even though I’m not overly well-endowed.

Anyway, it works for me one of two ways. First, I have a pair of bibs that is basically anatomically perfect- like a shaped cup from a bra (but for my parts). Wearing those, everything stays perfectly aligned. There’s enough room for me to get my forearms on the bar tops and ride that way, but I fear you’re not built the way I am or whatever and that won’t work for you. (I don’t know what the source of your discomfort is.)

My Rapha bibs aren’t so anatomically correct, and things don’t stay perfectly straight. That can be uncomfortable, but asymmetry wins and things move to one side or the other. So what works is a sort of John Holmes / Hamaconda deal where I tuck the cage and my balls down one leg a bit. Super comfy. Very distracting/imposing to look at, so things need to be realigned whenever I get off the bike. 😇

In cooler weather I will take an old ankle sock with a good cuff and stuff everything into it. That seems to help with keeping things warmer and hence less retracted. Balls trying to crawl up inside due to cold temps and being prevented by the cage are unhappy balls.

Share more specifics about what is jamming you up, please.

Peace!

so today i wore my cage to work and since this one fit better i had no issues. using the bathroom wasn't a problem either. i think i was just more nervous about it than anything. thanks for all the comments and advice! no i just have to figure out how to tell the lady i started seeing that i wear a cage...

Wow! Well, you solved the technical safety and comfort problem. Now, the HOLY MOLEY problem of introducing this concept to an unsuspecting intimate partner?

I humbly suggest you hoover up this thread, including all the things the OP did right:

Peace and good luck!

My riding is dwarfed by yours. A really good season for me, I might get close to 2K. 7K is impressive. My hat is off to you. What you describe with your jailbird is exactly what I experience. Excoriation and burning of the scrotum from the ring. I usually wear bib shorts as well (hard to go back once you’ve tried bibs). I tried an inverted cage and that felt uncomfortable kind of deep inside but scrotal burn continued anyway. I’m aging and the only competing I do now is time trials where I’m an average age grouper. But I use tri bars and that forward position seems to cause the discomfort. I went out of state to a pro bike shop and paid for a complete fitting. Computer analysis, HD cameras etc, so I know the bike fit is good. I found this online which claims to offer a solution and I may try it. https://blackoutdevices.com/sport
Anyway, your story is inspiring so I’m going to start experimenting again. I had given up.

that was a very good read and i might steal an idea or two from it. but they had been married for years. im about to go on my second date with someone im very interested in. im scared this will scare her away because it feels like she might want to be imtamit in the next date or two

The problems are similar: pinching, chafing, leaking, escaping, etc. But people are unique. Different cages and styles work for differently. Like you, I'm not looking for an escape-proof device so there are many choices. My latest cage suits me and I'm able to pee standing. I use a cord around my waist to keep my package up, and a slip knot to let it down so I can aim when I pee. Tight underwear supports my balls so the ring doesn't chafe my scrotum. The lock design offers more space for my balls. And it cost under $30.

BTW IMO taking your cage off for work is an excellent solution. But finding a cage and method of wear that doesn't pinch is critical.

well today is day 3 of wearing my cage to work and today im going to wear my cage belt. hoping it will help keep it in place better

just got home from work and after i got over the nerves of the belt moving around and someone seeing it. it made wearing my cage at work so much easier! using the bathroom was not a problem and to be honest i hardly noticed it.
