Just learned the term, "Gynarchy"

I saw this term on another site, and it got me thinking. What if women ran all governments exclusively? And men were routinely submissive to their ladies. Perhaps better yet, if men were routinely locked into chastity after hitting puberty and assigned a key holder?

No more wars, perhaps? Militaries would be greatly reduced or unnecessary. Population growth would be kept in check. Sounds pretty good to me.

What else might happen as a result of Gynarchy? Thoughts?

Margaret Thatcher sent troops to a war in The Falklands after the islands were occupied by Argentinian troops in 1982. The female president of Argentina until 2015, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, did her very best to start up a second Falklands War. Many British female MPs voted for the Iraq war in 2003. There was also a Celtic woman called Boudicca (sometimes also known ore romantically as Boadicea, who was famously bloodthirsty. Admittedly the Romans had apparently raped and killed both of her daughters, and they did eventually defeat her, but she had fun destroying some of them along the way.

Women have been an integral part of the British Armed forces for decades and now are routinely seen in combat roles. They hold the highest ranks and while they are a smaller proportion of the forces to men they are a significant and growing minority. While Theresa May, our current female Prime Minister, shows no sign of reversing the current trend of massive reductions in the armed forces it was male Prime Ministers who got it started. Britain no longer has an army, it has a Defence Force, due to how depleted it has been.

The idea that a Gynarchy would be able to cure all the evils of society is as misplaced as that of a Patriarchy being any better.

I am submissive to my Wife. I see plenty of examples of women you couldn't get me to be submissive to if they were the last female on the planet.

As far as fun goes, if you are British and old enough, the Two Ronnies did a series of sketches called The Worm Turns, all about a scenario where men wore the aprons and did the house work. It's a very long time since I have seen the sketches and they are probably very much a level of humour in keeping with the times they were broadcast. I don't remember any mention of chastity though...

I suspect that while we fantasize about a utopia being created, reality is never the same as fantasy.

Communism in theory is fantastic. In practice it's a disaster. Ditto socialism, uncontrolled capitalism etc. even hybrid systems that try to take the best of many theories aren't perfect.

As long as we have humans we'll have war, hate, and evil.

That said, I do think ias we have more women who enter politics for the right reasons and not just to be powerful, as well as go into business management, and FLRs we will see positive social changes.

I say that as others have pointed out women who are more like men in their thinking who were or are in politics and act like men. I think as women don't have to act like men to be elected is when the positive changes begin. I hope and pray that time is soon. But I suspect this hard time of unrest and tension in many of our western nations has to settle first.

So yes the fantasy is great, and yes reality will move in the right direction. No we will never see a utopia.

And yes I'd be willing to give up my career to be a sex/house/whatever servant/slave/whatever to a dominant woman or group of women. But that's another story and thread.

It is generally human nature to covet and in some the need for power is self consuming, prejudice is normal self preservation. I can't see these things changing nor can I decide if these things are entirely good or bad.

I think over time if gynarchy were worldwide the situations we get ourselves into now, miltary posturing trade embagos missile threats and war would all be business as usual regardless of who or what gender were in charge.

I think a Gynarchy is a viable alternative. It certainly couldn't be any worse. Women are far more likely to find peaceful solutions whenever possible. The planet has been taking some hits in my lifetime, the healing process needs to commence and I don't see a lot of men with a lot of solutions. Quite the opposite. There are many intelligent capable women who are natural leaders and who are inclined to take the long view: i.e., it's way past time that we started being gentle and nurturing to our world - it's all we've got, and it's fairly small, and way over-populated - and it's going to take an awful long time to make it healthy again. Women are entitled to the opportunity to make it work.

Overall, women probably have a far greater understanding that violence and terror ultimately achieve nothing, indeed such methods of 'control' end up being counter-productive. Natural feminine wisdom and power will steer a smoother course.

So, yes, a Gynarchic Society is worth considering. It's probably inevitable actually.

Hello @Jasmic68 I remember those sketches very well , for there time I think they touched upon a very little spoken about idea or scenario even if in a light hearted way , and you are right there was never any mention of chastity in them , which then I don't think was a very common or popular practice and if it was it was never spoken about much . How times change and things evolve , I am also showing my age here a little LOL

Very true Tom.
Patriachy has extended way past the fantasy stage and has been and still is a complete disaster.

I wouldn't say a "complete disaster". But we seem to be headed that way. It looks like we're going to find out soon though ;-)

That said the more I research female superiority, the more I have a desire to give up being submissive and the more I want to be a slave to a female dominant.

Tom Patriarchy has been a disaster in western "society" since about 1000 BC
I was agreeing with you except for the word "total" as our society has many good points. I was also trying to have a little fun with this.

Sorry if it was taken wrong as I generally agree that patriarchy is not a good way of running a society.

Again, I'm almost to the point of fully accepting complete and absolute female dominance in my life. I'm sure the right woman could break that last bit out of me and mold me to what she would need as part of her family unit. As I've posted, in my many years in D/s ive grown more and more submissive. I'm really at the point that I think the only happiness I can achieve is the next steps on that path. I guess a little more nudging and the right woman and I'll be there.
