I've been locked in a PA-5000 for the better part of a year. No, not continuously, but 24/7 most of the time with a few breaks, cleanings, and special treats. It's definitely the most comfortable and sustainable device I've ever tried. The only problem is, the damn things keep breaking every few months (or weeks). I've gotten into this cycle of getting one free warrantee replacement each time, buying from keptforher.com, so it comes out to about $40 per device. So it's an affordable ongoing expense but it's kind of ridiculous. It always breaks upon removal, the lock gets sticky and if you give it a little too much force it splits. I guess urine deposits build up inside the lock no matter how much you try to wash and rinse it, and gum up its motion. Does anyone have any tips on how to avoid this? Would lubricating the lock work? With what? Is there any way to clean out the deposits without messing up the lock? Maybe soak it in something once in a while?
hi beltwaybound, in germany there is a oil for locks - it is called WD40 - may you have heard of this. It works out great. No problems with the PA500 lock anymore ;-) I used it every 14 days..... greets
I would use ultrasound / ultrasonic cleaner, if I had one. the same device that has plenty of medical uses, for cleaning the tools.
i clean the inside of my chastity in the shower, using a small toothbrush whose bristles are covered in soap. i kneel in front of the sigot to thoroughly remove the residue. kneeling seems so natural too so i enjoy that part!
Let's talk locks. Worst possible senario = rusted lock, key won't work, you are stuck or breaking the key off in lock Cause = moisture that lingers combining with iron forming rust, and opps! Terrible = not using the key Cause = long term lockup, timely build up of dust, grime, dirt, and rust Not Good = swimming in the ocean, saltwater and sand in the lock (this one i have first hand experience with, took an hour, sweat and tears, and a new lock from neosteel) Cause = corrosion, disintegration of metal formation of oxide on iron, plus salt and sand Poor = sticky lock, difficult to open spraying the lock with any fluid, WD40 etc. Cause = build up of dust, grime, dirt, moisture, combining with the spray residual fluids Good = leave the lock alone, do nothing Cause = not having a clue, or not giving a hoot Best = spray the opening occasionally with a can of compressed air Cause = not much in the lock to go wrong Ultra Best = have your Keyholder buy a new lock every few years!!!, Cause = worrying about whether or not the key will open the lock to your belt after a month lockup and a few gin and tonics, lol... Best wishes for a New Year (or lock)
Giggles @ dclann I remember once reading if you take alcohol and clean around a lock it helps keep it in good health not sure how well this works for a Chasity lock but worth a try
