doesn't matter how used to a cage you are...when you down size to a smaller base ring it's like starting from scratch. I down graded to a smaller ring and have had to build up again by increasing time in daily it might not take as long as the first time you wear a cage but its taken a few days to be able to wear it over night and even then its waking me up again where as the old ring I could sleep through the night
mywife made the observation o the looseness so we wanted to try something that gave a more secure/snug fit
I posted a pic under my caged life at 50 album and you can definitely see how much more snug everything fits
Great pics! A great fitting device, and love the spiked cage to! Was going to get one of those but at the time the only place they were in stock were far to pricey! Had one 3D printed instead, you can see it in my pics, it’s now my daily cage.
I started with a 2 inch ring...i went down to a 1.88 inch ring and now I am in a 1.75 inch ring I have now been wearing the 1.75 ring for the last 4 days without removal but it took about a week of easing into it I increased the duration by 2 hours each day once i hit 12 hours i started the over nights after the first overnight I took a break for the day and put it back on before bed and have been in it since. set a goal of 1 week uninterrupted wear so I know everything is good before the wife takes over....we are headed to Avalon resort over the Juneteenth weekend so I can't wear it there but i'm sure it will get its time in after that and until then lol
Any reason why you decided to take a break from it after your first overnight wear in the smaller ring? Just wondering for curiosity's sake since you've already powered through the hardest part, nighttime erections and overnight wear. I've been wearing mine for 6-8 hours at a time, slowly extending into the evenings as days pass with eventual hopes to wear overnight and then 24/7 for a bit.
I have been locked for several years, 24/7 for over 3 years now with no unlocking except for cleaning. I have found that the more snug the base ring and the shorter the cage, the more comfortable it is to wear on a permanent basis.
i often see the comment 'the more snug the base ring is better' but that's not useful without context. because clearly there's such a thing as a too snug base ring; do people mean that if you've found that you can use a (say) 50mm or 45mm ring, you should always go for the smaller one? or that no matter what you think is the correct size, you should go smaller again?
Hmm I wonder what's the best approach 1. as snug as possible as long as it doesn't turn blue/cold or hurts *while flaccid* 2. just small enough that your testicles won't fit through the gap I am leaning towards no 2 because it's just more comfy that way. But I wonder, does a smaller base ring help keep the cage closer to the body? I have a loose scrotum and hate how the cage falls down which looks stupid (half of the penis is outside the cage, third of the cage is empty, that's with a cage on the shorter side) and it also means erections are still possible at the base and push the cage away. I've tried tight underwear and these hip straps but my real goal is a high-sitting cage that completely covers the base of the penis like in all those "model photos" (you know what i mean). Should I try a smaller base ring?
With your current ring on and flaccid, are you able to get more than 2 fingers under the base ring? I had ordered a cage that was 1 size too big (as far as I know) and was dealing with slippage similar to what you are describing. I ended up downsized my ring from 1 3/4" to 1 5/8" and so far so good, maybe a little slippage, but nothing like what I had previously. If a downsized ring still causes you issues, you can try a double base ring, which in theory would increase the surface area of contact and grip the scrotum better. Of course, this would depend if your cage manufacture offers them. Once I figure out my correct base ring size and if still deal with slippage, I will probably pick up a double base ring for this very reason.
No I can't fit any finger under. Maybe my pinky. But I think that's because I have the smallest possible gap width (between base ring and cage). I didn't realize that's the point of the double base ring. I was thinking it would lead to the opposite - hanging down ever more because of the extra weight.
Ah gotcha, I think you want to try this with the cage off and just the base ring since you want to test the top (12 o'clock position of the ring). Ah yeah, that was my thought as well, but based on several posters here, that's what I've seen people say about "why the double base ring".
I'll try that when I get a chance... in a month or so But I have a smaller base ring and I can get it on and "on its own" it's comfortable. Just together with the small gap I was a bit scared of night-time erections cutting of the bloodflow. Maybe I should try it again after the next time I get unlocked. But does a tighter ring actually help with low hanging balls or it is just going to squeeze the scrotum skin more while still hanging just as low?
Ah gotcha, I am not sure. I am new to locking and am building up to 24/7 wear. In my (limited) experience, the tighter ring does keep the cage a bit higher than when I had the one size too large ring, but I haven't put it through a bunch of trialing yet (have only had it for ~2 days), so I will update! I think as long as it's the right size, there should be no "real" squeezing.
